When i miss the game and see Tatum “only” had 26, you know he’s entered a different level. Absolutely. He didn’t press at all and was their best player defensively. Also 9 free throw attempts a game(!). If he can regularly get 10 free throws a game he’s going to be a legit mvp candidate.

Watching Tatum go bananas is so much fun. Jaylen started the game by driving into heavy traffic twice and losing the ball - he then fell asleep and got his pocket picked later in the second quarter. . Brogden and Smart great first halfs.

Out flat in the third quarter again - Jaylen making a few more bad decisions, pushing things instead of finding the flow.
I love how having Brogdon play so well seems to be pushing Smart to be better.

They totally lost their composure, flow (and shooting ability) in the third quarter. Outscored 31-19. Jaylen having an awful night. He is a -10, 5 turnovers, 1 for 6 on threes, consistently poor decisions with the ball.

Jaylen has quietly been bad for a couple weeks now. I was hoping his playmaking would continue its steady improvement, but he seems to have regressed in that regard.

Now Brogdon is having a really poor shooting night. Grant isn't shooting - Hauser isn't playing (enough)

It has happened - Jayson has separated himself from Jaylen - as well as most NBA players. If they win this game (and they should) - it is on Tatum - and a superb game from Smart. Jaylen has points, but also turnovers - Jayson is +23, Jaylen +2 with a few minutes left. Really entertaining game.

It was never really a debate, but that massive separation happened the middle of last year. This team simply refuses to make it easy on themselves.

Amazing. Tatum and Smart both missed their free throws. Celts haven't scored in over 3 minutes. This is way way too close. Up to Grant to make his free throws

Grant's amazing stat line for tonight - 38 minutes played - NO field goal attempts, 2 points on 2 free throws.
39 points for Jayson 7 turnovers for Jaylen, -8 complete game for Smart
Big Win

So Jayson Tatum became a 1st team all nba player last year eating fried food and pizza:
My God, this guy is talented. And still has a ways to go from a growth/maturity standpoint.

Very good win.
I read a Memphis article saying the team felt good about there loss because they didn’t have Adams. But you guys forget we didn’t have Timelord.
I rest my case.

Any explanation why our coach changed the lineup? Was he expecting Adams to play?
I have a very hard time watching the Grizzlies, passing on Bane twice and then trading him away to clear Kanters salary is just painful. It's like if we passed on Robert Williams. Danny was brilliant as a GM, that was just horrible though. The short-term joy when they picked him only to have it announced they traded him.

Umass , I didn’t know how good he was but I clearly remember the draft, the always show best available and I remember they could of had him easily. They took an L on that one.

Tatum decided to save "going bananas" for the third Q - 16 points in 5 minutes. Not shabby at all.

I just started listening a few minutes ago - interesting box score things after 3Q
Derek White 8 rebounds and 4 assists in 15 min Hauser with 18 points in 22 min Starters uniformly big time +/- Jaylen 24 points, ZERO turnovers Smart 9 assists, 1 turnover in 20 min

OK - now Jaylen has gone bananas. 5 min left and the Js have a combined 61 points. Wow.
24 for Hauser. Sheesh
No Rob and we've lost only to Chicago (just a bad loss to a bad team) and 2 OT losses to the Cavs (both should have been victories).
We are off and running.

Well the offense certainly is, and after tonight we might have the best offense in the league again. I have no real issues with the 8-3 record, but the overall D is still a concern, still in the lower half of the league but it has been trending in the right direction. I think Jaylen played one his best games of the season, perhaps the best player out there just ahead of Tatum, career high for Hauser and 3 staight games with 11+ assist for the first time in Smart's carreer.

Big Hauser fan and I think he deserves a spot in the rotation but he’s going to need to improve his D to get on the court in the playoffs. Doesn’t even need to be good defensively, even below average would work with his shooting. The offense looks completely different with him on the court, there’s so much spacing
The thing I was most impressed with was his cutting ability. Also liked that he was penetrating tonight when defenders would bite on a 3

Relative to expectations it’s Brogdon who is disappointing me defensively. Seems like he is struggling on switches with the J’s so far. He still should be playing more IMO, but it’s worth noting. The overall defense needs Rob or some athletic 5. But they’re treading water well while they wait for help.
