Everybody knows Nelson de la Rosa, but who is Karim Garcia?

Wouldn't have been an issue if they hadn't gone over the limit last year and/or wasted the money on a washed up Kluber. He’s making a decent chunk more than Kluber so it very well could have been an issue. Maybe they don’t want to invest that much in an unreliable arm on the other end of 30. funny to see the anti-bloom jabs come out the second they have a bad series tho (not you, the initial post). They were wonderfully quiet for awhile So, they invested in an unreliable arm on the other side of 35, instead? As far as the Bloom jabs go, please. It's not a jab to question the signing of a FA P who's sitting on a 6.62 FIP and -.3 FG WAR. I'm in the middle on Bloom. I don't think he's Haywood Sullivan. I also don't think he's Branch Rickey. But the chest-thumping on the board among the pro-Bloomers during the winning streak was much over the top than any "jabs" he gets about a crap signing. He has shown he can make great BB decisions and he has shown he can make decisions that make you wonder what in the world was he thinking. It's fair to comment on both.

Two outs, no one on, down 8 in the bottom of the 9th... Time for the mother of all Mother's Day Miracles!
ADD: FYI, this did not happen.

0-6 against the Pirates and Cards at Fenway. Weird.

Terrible series, but there's just no way this Cards team is as bad as their record to date.

0-6 against the Pirates and Cards at Fenway. Weird. Water is finding it’s level after years of inter league dominance

I don't know guys, this is the lowest I've felt about this team this season. I know it's just a bad series, but I have PTSD from last year. This feels a lot like right after Storys crazy couple weeks last season, when it seemed nothing could go right and the team spiraled into oblivion . I just hope that our boys are mentally stronger this season and maybe Raffy or someone says "get on my back fellas." I just have a bad feeling.

Team has a different dna, I’m not going to be worried about a repeat of last year until we lose a game by 20 or have the entire rotation go down with injury at the same time

I deleted my prior response to this as I don’t really want to make this a thing, but there are very different levels of investment and that shouldn’t need to be explained. Also it’s weird you feel you had to go to “Sage talent evaluator Mr. F.A. Market” because people celebrated good moves during a winning streak on a fan messageboard. I’ll leave it at that.

I know Jansen blew the other two games, but somehow I feel better about that than tonight. The rotation needs a lot of work. I don't buy into Sale or Paxton long term but we'll see.

Getting swept by a sub-.500 team, no matter how they're trending is never good. Getting swept by a sub-.500 team from the NL Central is embarrassing.
Gotta flush this whole series and move on.

they should have won the first 2 games. they were ahead going into the 9 th in both and i think the hype of the 400 saves for Jansen threw him off focus on the actual game. it is such an emotional accomplishment there had to be a letdown and we sure saw that. cora should never have had him pitch the 2nd game to get his confidence back. he threww 22 pitches in 1st game and it was just asking for another defeat. He was trying too hard in the 2nd game to make it right and that never works.
with no pressure and throwing free and easy is what he needs to do and that wasn't what we saw.
This team is chasing pitches again and needs to be straightened out. Cora has to get his act together again. Seattle will be the best place to start with.
