Except he never said to “release him”. He said that Kikè is a super utility guy…which he is. I have no idea if Hamilton is the answer to anything, but it seems like you created an argument just so you could DESTROY it. So you're benching Kikè for Hamilton? That should go over even better in the locker room lmao *I’m* not doing anything. I was just pointing out that you created a strawman argument so you could dismantle it and pile on. I even said I had no idea if Hamilton is the answer. I do know that Kiké is a lousy shortstop, though. If he were only starting 3-4x/week in assorted roles, while making the team better, I doubt the clubhouse would be destroyed. But you do you.

Pretty sure there's literally zero difference between how the Rays and Red Sox evaluate pitchers Nah, they have that voooodooooo magic Diekman already putting up zeros for them!

Duran and Duvall have combined for 2.5 WAR in 30 games. The major league leader in WAR is Wander Franco, at 2.3. I know someone posts something like this every few days but it's still amazing to me.
How many more PAs before All World All Star Jarren Duran™ qualifies for league batting statistics? You need 3.1 plate appearances for each game the team has played to qualify. The Sox have played 38 games which currently means 117.8 to qualify. Jarren has 88 plate appearances now so he needs to make up 30. If you are short the 502 at the end of the year, you can add outs as plate appearances to win a batting title.

Tony Gwynn won one of his that way.
Melky Cabrera was supposed to win that way the year he got busted for steroids but they made up a rule at the last minute that said you can't win a batting title if you fall short because of your suspension.

Oh that’s amazing, I try to give my boss a fun stat of the day every day at work and he LOVES Tony Gwynn stats, so I will be telling him that Monday

I noticed over the years when the Sox honor a player for an achievement. To me the awards seem like trinkets. I remember they honored Jim Rice for getting into the HOF. one of the gifts was a picture signed by all the current Sox. It wasn’t even a good picture it was like cut out of paper. Not for nothing if Jim wants everyone’s signature he could get that anyway. Just something that stuck with me over the years.

Looked so good and then that. It’s the story of the Sox rotation this year. Is it - command - luck -??

Missed his spot on one pitch to a very good hitter. I’m pretty encouraged by the stuff though.

His stuff looks good. Tough miss to an elite hitter. I expect some hiccups for this first start in a few years

You do you How exactly would getting potentially better production and defense at ss hurt the team's momentum? You do realize that Kiké has been a utility guy virtually his whole career right? He's never been a bonafide starter. So its not like him moving to a utility role would be a drastic shift for him or how he's perceived by the other players. I'd argue that him being right-handed bat off the bench who can fill in at multiple positions at any given time would be more valuable to the sox than him being a mediocre at best every day starter.

The youth has been very good for us and Hamilton got a bat. Kiké off the bench or fill in for everyone to get a day off isnt a bad idea at all. also maybe it lights a spark in Kiké and he plays better.

You can’t draw too many conclusions from the outing of a pitcher who’s been out for an extended period of time but missing bats with up the middle 96 mph fastballs is a very good indicator.
