Clemson’s Will Taylor with 3 HRs today. He turned down 1st round money a few years ago to play football and he could shoot up the boards now that he’s concentrating on baseball only.

He came into today's game hitting .043 so this was nice to see; I was going to make a post about his miserable start if he went hitless again today. Also, he's not eligible as he's a freshman, but Drew Burress has a 4 HR game for Georgia Tech today and leads the nation with 9.

Charlie Condon is 4-4 w/ 3 HRs through 4 innings today. Seems like a guy that definitely won't be there for the Sox at 12.

Massachusetts native Jonathan Santucci today - 6 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 14 K. Not quite Hagen Smith and not quite Oregon State-level competition, but not a bad day at the office.
I know there's been some mixed messaging given what this FO may prioritize in terms of pitching traits, but I think the present stuff, future command types are what they'll gravitate towards and it would not surprise me to see him in the mix if he stays healthy and if Smith/Burns/Brecht are all off the board.

Hagen Smith goes 6IP 1H 1ER 1BB 12K against Murray State. Arkansas fan. Watched every pitch. The slider is way different this year. Tighter and harder. It’s gross. He threw 2 get me over curveballs today on 0-0 counts which I found interesting. I’ll keep checking in. I think if he proves he can throw strikes he’s going to be in play for Breslow.

Holman looks to be LSU’s new Friday starter. Saw him pitch and his stuff is decent, but the results have been amazing. His stuff has been playing better than jump or hurd’s. Holman’s stuff did not look this good at Alabama last year.

I wonder if the team that takes caglione will develop him as a 2 way guy?

So he doesn't think Condon will be there at #12 is what you're saying.

Obviously the pick HAS to be Trey Yesavage

I was going to do a little summary on former draftees, but Law throwing Payton Green at 23rd overall here takes most of the thunder away from that. He's bounced around a bit but good for him making what seems to have been the right decision. I do like Yesavage, he really impressed me when I saw him at their Regional last year, but if Santucci comes back with clean medicals I'm taking him over all of the pitchers ranked ahead of him up to (and maybe even including) Brecht. I think he'll probably be "my guy" on the pitching side this year. I also view Yesavage as a floor > ceiling guy which isn't inherently a bad thing, I wrote a novel on preferring floor in the first round, but typically with the assumption that the floor comes with slot savings that may not be there if his stock continues to rise as it has.

That’s lower than I would have figured for Santucci. Glad to have some arms in this range that I actually like.
I would love for Hartle to keep dropping and get to our second pick. He’s kind of boring as a pitch ability lefty but he has still had a great college career.

Obviously the pick HAS to be Trey Yesavage Obviously, unless Travis Bazzana is still available.

Jonathan Santucci vs. Josh Hartle tonight, I'm hoping to get home from the gym in time for the tail end of their starts but that'll be a really good one.

Two more HRs for Charlie Condon today, who now leads NCAA with 11.
