They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Challenging six game roadie. 3-3 would be terrific.

Giants OPS vs LHP is .673 I say keep Pivetta’s bulk start for the Mariners series opener and all them lefties we have in Game 3.

Bleier or Joely trade would make sense. Possible someone gives up a little something for Joely. Bleir is headed for a DFA soon unless new injuries outpace returners, so if another team wants him there's no harm in handing him over now.

This is fascinating. If I had a guy like this who could consistently foul off 10-12 pitches an at bat, I'd put him on the MLB roster and lead him off every game. Could you imagine someone like this pissing off starters and wasting 30+ of his pitches every game? Pretty soon he'd be getting IBB almost every game, or plunked. And if the plunking became a pattern the starters would get tossed. Win-win-win. archive.li/R6B4D

Rodriguez hasn't given up a run since he came back. Unsustainable, sure, but he's looked like cash money all month. I would trade or DFA Bleir, however. He's just been off.

I think Bleier has been better since coming back from the IL too
I’d keep Rodriguez over Bleier because I think Jacques/Bleier are redundant LHP GB specialists and Rodriguez misses more bats. With Murphy being a bulk guy I like having Rodriguez in there as a short stint lefty who can get some whiffs (from both RHH and LHH too)

The Red Sox have 60 games left to play, and 7 games are against the Kansas City Royals (11.7% of the remaining schedule). This has to be an advantage over other wildcard contenders.

notstarboad, aren't you located around SF ? I'm in RI! I might have still been living in WI when I started posting here, but I've only visited SF. Someone else will need to go toss around the football in the parking lot before the game

It does feel good that NYY and Tampa have harder remaining schedules and that Toronto's is virtually the same, though!

Are we rooting for the Astros or Rays? Toronto vs LAA and Baltimore vs NYY are tough too. I'm just taking solace in the fact that 6 teams we want to lose, all of which are above .500, are going to collectively play .500 ball for a few days.

Are we rooting for the Astros or Rays? Astros. 2017 against the playoffs against the Sox aside, they've been our savior when it comes to beating the Yankees in the playoffs. The Rays have been the worst since the beginning of their expansion. Plus the Rangers seems like they might head into a free fall. Astros looking like they win the West.
