Gammons tweeted out something similar last month where two NL scouts were raving about Garcia and Bannon, who at the time was in the FCL. Garcia has prob been my favorite follow of all the short season guys so far.

We've heard the same. He's moving up again this month in the rankings going up today or tomorrow (it won't seem like much but remember you'll need to account for new guys entering ahead of him).

Garcia leads the Red Sox minor league system in wRC+ among qualified hitters (153). For those curious here's the top 10:
Garcia - FCL - 153 Anthony - A/A+ - 144 Starlyn Nunez - DSL - 140 Hickey - AA - 140 Dalbec - AAA - 139 Kelvin Diaz - FCL - 134 Cespedes - DSL - 134 Jordan - A+/AA - 133 Goodrum AAA - 133 Meidroth - AA - 129

How come Goodrum never got involved in patching over our middle infield holes? He's clearly done well in AAA and has a very respectable major league track record under his belt - about 1.7 WAR/500 PA for his career, or 1.0 WAR in 549 PAs since 2020. He wasn't a better option than David Hamilton or Pablo Reyes? Or, you know, Kiké?

Not saying one is right and one is wrong, but there is at least not a consensus as to his value over that time.

Clearly the thinking was no, and this was consistent among MLB clubs given that he signed to play in Korea.

He has been very consistent all season. What a magnetic DP combination they seem to have on BLUE.

Fwiw, Nunez has mostly played 3B this year. Yoiber Ruiz has been the primary 2B. That said, that's mostly flipped recently.

Johanfran was removed in the 4th inning. Something to watch.

Ho-hum, another multi-hit game for Cespedes. He's 2-3 w/ a triple so far in the 5th inning.

Johanfran was removed in the 4th inning. Something to watch. Looks like it was actually the bottom of the 2nd. Popped out in the first.

Amusing to me that MLB receives the data "Bryant Zayas called out on strikes" and then converts it into something they works for their Gameday live web format by assigning three called strikes random strike zone coordinates.
On the walks all the balls are above the zone, someone needs to write a ticket to program some of the balls to miss low, inside and outside. While we're at it, why don't we pretend that some of these walks were epic 9 pitch at bats?

In the 6th, Zanetello walked, stole 2nd and 3rd, then scored on a wild pitch.

Ho-hum, another multi-hit game for Cespedes. He's 2-3 w/ a triple so far in the 5th inning. Yupp.. I have a strong feeling he's going to be in the top 10-12 by next year... I know very little about the dynamics of the FCL/DSL, in terms of how prospect call-ups/decisions are made based on age, international status, new draftees, no more rookie ball, etc. I realize Cespedes is only 17 years old (which is crazy). But I'd love to learn more about it, if anyone's willing to provide a basic overview..

Yuten with a HR, his third of the year. Armando Sierra hit one as well - he's having an under the radar solid year so far.

Guys I'm anxious to get some reports on:
1) Yuten 2) Starlyn Nunez 3) Franklin Arias 4) Low bonus DSL catchers Andrew Musett and Gerardo Rodriguez who are having nice seasons
Johanfran Garcia would have been #1 except the positive reports have done piled up at this point

Arias has slowed down some but his bat has been somewhat surprising. I may be missing someone but none of the pitchers have stood out.

Ho-hum, another multi-hit game for Cespedes. He's 2-3 w/ a triple so far in the 5th inning. From the one clip I saw, he looks shorter and maybe thicker through the legs than I would imagine a SS to be. Is he athletic enough to stay at SS beyond A ball, or are we looking at a 5'9 3B like Terry Pendelton? from scouting blurb
