Any idea what type of pitch count they're maxing RDLR out at now that we are a month into the season?

Brentz BB/K ration is around 0.42 right now. While that may not be great, it's better than is 0.30 ration last year in AA and 0.34 ration the year before in A/A+ and then 0.27 in Lowell. So he seems to be improving this, admittedly in SSS. What are acceptable BB/K rates? At what point does it start to get more concerning?
For those that have seen him this year in person, what are you seeing? Does he seem to have made some improvement in his pitch selection/patience?

De La Rosa may be finding his comfort level after the TJ surgery. It always takes a little while it seems. The spring training stuff was nice, but this is better, going a few solid innings in a starting role and shutting down the opposition on 3 hits and no walks. A few more like this and they'll feel better about stretching him out.

I was expecting him to catch fire right out of the gate, but that is just because I am Biased.

Iggy subbed out after six innings, replaced by Diaz. No word on why. PawSox lead 4-3.

For those that have seen him this year in person, what are you seeing? Does he seem to have made some improvement in his pitch selection/patience? For me, it's less about his walk numbers (which will probably never be good), but his strikeout numbers. Even during his hot stretches, he's struck out close to a quarter of the time (24.9% in Salem in 2011, 25.8% in Portland in 2012). It's incredibly tough to be a productive major league hitter when you strike out close to a quarter of the time, especially if you don't walk much (*cough* Middlebrooks *cough*). This season, Brentz has only struck out 20% of the time, which would be (by far) the best strikeout rate he's posted since his lights-out stint in Greenville in 2011, and if he can maintain it going forward, it bodes well for his future.

I noticed in the box score that Iglesias left the game, apparently after being hit by a pitch. Anyone know anything more about that?

I'll be back up in Wilmington for the Salem game tonight, updates at twitter.com/jonmeoli. This team is much better than what I saw last earlier this month, I'll say that.

Ugh, one report had Julio's wrist swelling after it was hit. Guess we need to wait for more, but any hit and then swelling to the wrist just isn't cool.

By "one report" you don't mean my tweet speculating that maybe he got hit and it swelled up, are you? Because that was complete conjecture and was written to clearly be such.

PawSox still tied at 5-5 in the top of the 13th. Rowland-Smith is in for his fourth inning of work.

And RRS strands a runner at second for his fourth scoreless inning. Caps off a great month for him (I assume he's done for the day, with De La Torre likely following, if not a position player like Sutton) - 16.1 ip, 7 h, 1 r, 5 bb, 12 k. You'd like to see the K's maybe come up a bit, but eh, what the hell.

I've seen it on twitter, but don't believe anyone has posted it here. For those who don't know, Jon Hee retired today. Sad sad day for the SP community...

Chris, my apologies. I read your report again. It was conjecture on your part. I rushed to judgement.
