Just 4-5 more seasons of 5-6 wins before this team gets an actual GM.

Awesome. A season with nothing to watch for. Exciting. If you didn’t find this game exciting I don’t know what to tell you. I get where you’re coming from, but I’m ecstatic to finally see Mac finish a comeback. Also, F the Bills

Not even Halloween and the season is basically over for tanking and playoffs.

A great day helps set up a bleak future.

Line was pretty good and the offense plays much better, shocker
I’ll take a win today against Buffalo for a loss against a bad team down the road

It's fun for sure, but it's likely a franchise crushing win. A great day helps set up a bleak future. They weren’t gonna go 0-10 down the stretch, it’s hardly franchise crushing They weren't, but odds are high they can pick off the Colts, Commanders and Giants. Winning a game they should have lost is going to send them back sliding hard down the draft. It also likely prevents any sell off now as well.

Onwenu looked like an all pro RT at least during pass protection. Finally give Douglas a full game. You played Brown for extra blocking.
Call it nitpicking, still shocked with that good pass protection they didn't take a deep shot all game.
Sorry I know I should hate this, but I enjoy watching us win, especially against the Bills and no way we weren't picking up a few more wins this year.

Looked like a real football team today. Refreshing. Very few penalties and only 1 turnover. Comeback for a win with only 2 minutes left was very Bradylike. I think the guys talked to each other and decided enough was enough. Let’s play the game like we should.

brb doing the math on 10-7
Baringer and Ryland were beasts today. So was Barmore. Pop is their best player on offense. Most wiggle out of a Patriot I’ve seen since Dion Lewis.

They have the best record in their division at 2-1. Woo hoo!

I think you can count on that. But the idea they were only going to win 1-2 games was always wacked out. Mac made some big mistakes down the stretch that almost cost them this one on a day that Buffalo was mediocre. But Jones still made some plays at the end so and they pick up a nice victory.
If they are going to start to get better play at RB, Douglas gets to play and a secondary doesn't look horrible and the mistakes aren't constant, this is probably a 5-win team. Bill didn't give much credit to Mac and more or less said lets do it again and take advantage of the teammates who played hard.

They were never going to lose enough games to get a top 5 pick. Would much rather see them with a pulse and see if there are some pieces to potentially build around.

Brown-Strange-Andrews-Sow-Onwenu may be the way! It’s funny, looked back on the running stats and they are pretty bad but it felt a lot better.

Part of me is so happy and part of me is just furious. I mean a bunch of us have wanted Onwenu at RT the last two years! Arguing what you literally just watched, that RT is much more important and impactful than RG. I was literally ready to let him leave in free agency because no way I pay him big money, when the OL sucks for two years. He keeps playing like that at RT, I'm paying him big money to stay! Game 7 of the year, months and months into when they started practicing to finally put Onwenu at RT and Sow at OG. Come on now, that was clear in the preseason. I won't fault them for trying Sow at RT, I certainly do for sticking with it for so long. Which in turn slowed down his progress at OG, the position almost everyone pegged him for. Just amazing how good Onwenu looked at RT, given per reports he switched over at Wednesday practice after not playing that position for years.
Can this team go 8-2 down stretch? Sure, it's possible, just not likely. Bourne lost fumble, Jones fumble that Onwenu got back, still happened. Was this for the first time in years the Patriots starting to take that big improvement they did for years as season goes along or just a one game fluke? They ran better, still below the Averages Bills give up, a horrible team against the run!
They going to do right thing and trade or sit Juju for rest of year? Can O'Brian now given Mac has time to throw open up the offense and create big plays down the field?
You really needed this in the first few games of the year! You know Bill is looking at one thing, next 3 games before bye week. Win those, get to 5-5 and go from there. The Patriot Homer in me wants to believe, the problem is we haven't kept improving during a year since Brady left!
The Crazy person in my wants to trade for Juedy, the realistic person wants to still sell off certain pieces. Like Uche, who you didn't even miss.
Having two of the Jones made a huge difference, the next step is reducing the time Bryant plays and get back to more man cover D. Not whatever that was yesterday, what partial man cover D, with help to certain area with zone coverage guys. Bryant read the plays wrong on multiple plays and was out of position. Just make Bryant CB#4 and match him up against slower players, his rating is so bad it's crazy!
At same time with all the injuries it's nice to see multiple players step up on D. Barmore showing up 2nd game in a row, Wise was making plays. Down 3 key players and they still did very well against the Bills.
Bills I understand what they are trying to do, but taking away Josh Allen running so much makes that team easier to defend. So many times on 3rd down we'd do everything perfect, cover WR, get pressure and then just watch him run for a 1st down. Taking that away, takes away a huge part of what makes him so good and why it was so hard stopping them. You don't tell Lamar Jackson or Cam Newton to stop running.

I’ve talked myself back into Mac, he just needs Marvin Jr!
He got the ball out quick, limited his mistakes/panic moments, and hung in there to make some huge throws (that 3rd and 8 on the final drive being the biggest one that pops out)
As long as we can keep giving him time they should be an ok offense. Loved seeing them finally let Pop off the chain, he is so dynamic. I can imagine certain rare sets with him and Marcus Jones both out there causing mayhem
Wouldn’t mind them taking a 2022 Red Sox approach to the deadline. Go get another possibly decent receiver while selling off pieces that you don’t plan on extending (Uche)
Tackling needs to be better. I’ll definitely say that.
Encouraging that they fought for Belichick like that

I'm far from that with Mac Jones, more like he has ten games to prove he's like a Cousins type QB. Last game was a good start, was that his first 4th quarter comeback against a quality team? I need a lot more against good teams.
Isn't Harrison a catch 22 with Mac Jones? If Mac Jones plays well going forward, you aren't getting a high enough pick to draft him.
Jerry Jeudy is having a bad season, you could argue his 5th year option is basically a negative at this point. If the price is right, I'd give it a try though. They didn't play a ton of games together, but there were some big ones and lots of TDs. Then again that team was loaded, so again the price has to be way lower than rumors in offseason.

I know broncos fans are getting fed up with Jeudy, hopefully the team feels the same way because i would love to take a roll of the dice on him If the Pats end up with like the 11th pick or something I think they should do what the Falcons did for Julio Jones and move up for MHJR- I believe that was year 4 for Matt Ryan too I do mostly kid on being back in on Mac though, I am going to need to see him do this consistently.

Part of me wonders if Mac Jones is going to be QB, top OT are gone, Harrison running mate EE might be a better fit. Then move up in 2nd if the right player falls. Go get that elite version of Bourne and Meyers he loves, an elite Z receiver.
Then focus on guys like Jeudy and Evans for the outside. We can dream on unlikely things lol.

I hate 2nd round QBs (and HATE Senior/Super Senior QBs) but there are going to be a few guys that drop this year that are pretty promising. Someone among Nix, Penix, McCarthy, Sanders will drop, and there are intriguing options among Ewers, Riley Leonard, Hartman, Daniels, etc. Maybe a few guys will go back to school, but it's not an awful year to get a top blue chip type player high in the first and then take a swing at QB later.
