Just curious. I know Friesman is,the best and probably somebody you dont question, but maybe he should have found a way to hang onto Seager? Let's revisit this question around 2029 or so. Doubt the Rangers care about 2029 right now. The Dodgers SS situation hasn't exactly been awesome. The thought was Lux was going to replace Seager and lot really hasn't happened. If you're going to Judge a free agent signing by the final year or so then you'd never sign a very good player.

The Dodgers actually got Trea Turner to replace Seager. Turner was there a year after Seager left. They probably should have kept one of those guys, though.

The succession plan from Turner certainly didnt work out.

I wouldn't even say it was a bad signing by Texas; it's certainly worked out so far. But the Dodgers' offense was just fine this year and they've invested their long-term contract money exceptionally well so I doubt they have any regrets.

Why is 2029 more important than 2023 given what's going on? How about 2024 - 2027 when hes likely to still became good. Does that matter? The Rangers are right now playing one of the most crucial set of games in franchise history. Not sure 2029 will be as important. Not all seasons are of equal importance. In theory they should be but in reality they're just not.

We were talking about LA's decision, not Texas'.

The Dodgers lineup was basically Mookie, Freeman, JDM and a lot of mediocrity and the middle infield production was not particularly good. Rojas is a long way down at SS from where they were. I'd think a guy like Seager would be a keeper. Not many SS are like that.

How did Garcia not hit .800 with 462 homers for the season?
Not even getting hit on the hand could stop him.

Good game but Smoltz sucks. One of my favorite pitchers but I heard way too many that`s what I said, that`s what I was talking about, that`s what I was explaining.

Joe Davis with the Bob ueker “just a bit outside” call In the World Series!!! When he said that I had the thought that the competition for most famous call in baseball history is between Bob Uecker's "juuuust a bit outside" and Russ Hodges' "the Giants win the pennant!"

I think we’d be remiss to have a playoffs thread without this:

I have a question.
I just turned on the World Series game on TV, while at the same time having the Yahoo game summary on my computer. The Yahoo game summary is posting the results of at-bats before the AB culminates on TV. Is the televised feed of the Series on some sort of delay?

I would say yes. they want to be able to break from the game if something bad happens. That is some serious pitching by the D-bags guy

A dominant old school start where the starting pitcher is dealing strikes and mowing down the opposition. With all of the bullpen games, openers, and five and dive starts what Merill Kelly is doing tonight is a welcome sight. I'd like to see more of that in baseball. His start has been enjoyable to watch.

If I have their stat tracker on it is always ahead of the TV.
