Do you have links to back this up? It feels like you make both these claims often (that you were early on a take and that you were widely teased for it) and truthfully I’ve always been pretty skeptical of both. I think there has always been some level of doubt that Sogard could be a real contributor but I can’t imagine anyone A) feeling strongly enough about it or B) wanting to manifest a Red Sox prospect failing that they’d have laughed at you for the take. I looked for Sogard in his posts from April back to January last year. Couldn`t find anything but did see Kavadas would be on the opening day roster. Plus a lot of Casas can`t hit but can only get BB. We all make wrong predictions. It`s the claim that he was laughed at that got to me. I remember the “Casas can’t hit” era very well.

Mlbtraderumors: Evan Longoria? Part of a long list of possible 26th men, mostly from Cotillo who does not mention Longoria. Would he accept the limited $ and appearances at 1b, 3b, and rhh dh?

Yall agressive i just spent 20 mins looking for it but I asked how yall feel about Sogard kid is super consistent, I think he can sneak up this year in a gameday thread and i got nothing good not technically laughed at. But im sorry I posed. I absolutely was off on Casas after the first month of the season yes but he worked hard and got better. I will take the slack for that all day long. Great talk fellas!!!! Also I dont always say im on a prospect before anyone I was just one of the few who never gave up on Duran and I have proved that already. Have a great day gentlemen.

Vaughn Grissom has a groin strain, putting his status for Opening Day in doubt, per Alex Cora.
The Adalberto Mondesi PTSD is kicking in just a tiny, tiny bit

For a real repeat of the 2023 SS apocalypse, though, we'd need Valdez to also go down, and Reyes, and then have Rafaela at 2B with unaccountably terrible offense and a total inability to adjust to major league pitching.

Bummer because I’m excited to watch Grissom, but getting another MLB look at Valdez isn’t the worst. I feel he’s being a little slept on.

I really hope we figure out what we have with Grissom this year and he doesn't have one of those kinda crappy seasons that you can legitimately make excuses for and we have no idea what to do next

The irony the guy acquired in the Chris Sale trade gets hurt.

“Smithers, there's no way I can lose this bet unless, of course, my nine all-stars fall victim to nine separate misfortunes and are unable to play tomorrow. But that will never happen. Three misfortunes? That’s possible. Seven misfortunes? There’s an outside chance. But nine misfortunes! I'd like to see that!“

I am excited for Valdez to get a chance. He fits into the category of prospect I expect to eventually be moved for an arm. Let him show the industry his new defensive chops and the arm he could bring back will be better than it was.

How long into spring training can Snell and Montgomery sit before they have delayed starts to the season — and we start worrying about injuries, slow starts etc?

How long into spring training can Snell and Montgomery sit before they have delayed starts to the season — and we start worrying about injuries, slow starts etc? They're already getting ready for the season. My guess is that they don't particularly want to participate in spring training except to get in a couple games at the end. Notably Montgomery doesn't need any time to get domestically settled in Boston, so he could really let this linger for a while.

At the rate they're going they wont get signed until the All Star break. Hard to imagine at this point if they dont sign real soon how they're truly going to be ready on Opening Day.

It’s going to be funny - and very relatable - if Montgomery’s decision comes down to, “Oh sweet, we won’t have to move out of our apartment.”

I would think we are just about there now. Most starters are making their second appearance of the Spring at this point. Another missed week and I doubt a starter has enough time to ramp up properly for Opening Day. This might not matter to some teams that can be patient, but I doubt that’s the norm. I’m guessing some of these guys start to lose value in the open market at this point as a result.

Montgomery not having the QO can sign whenever but you have to think Snell really needs to sign a deal sooner than later. At some point if he's going to be delayed to start anyway teams might just say well screw it we'll just wait until we won't owe a draft pick anymore to sign him.

Dave Roberts is a treasure. Can never thank him enough for contributing to two Red Sox World Series as both a player and as a manager.
