Bridges is a major overpay, that's a price for a star player.
Wait since when are the Suns trading off the team they just built?

From what I've read it's not likely to happen but it isn't out of the realm of possibilities that KD asks for a trade as he's been known to do. Why the Rockets would want to push chips all in right now for KD is beyond me, I think they made a mistake by trading the Nets back the rights to their picks in the coming years. Clearly the Nets are going for a tank job right now and there is a good chance their pick is top 5 in next years draft which from what I've read is supposed to be a strong draft.

Knicks going all in on Bridges. Why on earth did the Rockets do that trade? Do they seriously think they are one past their prime superstar away from contention? Edit: sorry, meant to quote RJP above. This is the total haul Houston got: - 2025 first-round pick swap from Phoenix owed to Brooklyn from the Kevin Durant trade; -2027 first-round pick from Phoenix owed to Brooklyn in the Durant trade; -2029 first-round pick from either Phoenix or Dallas, depending on which one is more favorable; -2029 first-round pick swap for less favorable of the Phoenix or Dallas picks. The Nets don’t trade Bridges to the Knicks to tank without getting their picks back. In 2029 they control both the Dallas and Phoenix firsts, getting the best one outright and having the ability to swap later. So they traded 2 firsts for 2 first and 2 swaps. Theres a really good chance Phoenix is awful in a couple years. It was a no brainer for them. Great asset management regardless of if they are going to try and deal for KD or Booker.

Doesn’t feel to me like they’re gonna make a pick tonight

Ill always remember that Tillman 3 in game 3. That was so awesome.
That was pretty close to the Celtics version of the Dave Roberts steal. We stole a road game and then only had to win one more without a healthy Porzingis. Series looks a lot different otherwise.

Doesn’t feel to me like they’re gonna make a pick tonight Only if a player they love falls to them. If not, they’ll be trying to deal for multiple future seconds. Which are valuable - that’s who we got Tillman and Springer so it’s almost better if they do that.

Annouby back to the Knicks for 5 years 212M. Seems a bit much to me but they kind of had to do it after pushing a lot of chips in for bridges. I'd say the Knicks are firmly at #2 behind the Celtics in the east as of right now.

The Knicks think OG and Bridges can shutdown the Jays and win them the East. It's like they didn't watch the playoffs. If the Celtics play team Basketball, the only thing stopping them are injuries! Scary fact is we likely haven't seen Tatum or Brown peak years yet and now we have them playing off each other.

hoopshype.com/lists/2024-draft-workouts-tracker/RJP Celtics did a late workout with Cam Christie among others like AJ Johnson. I post this, because you see the rankings. We keep hearing if someone falls, but they didn't workout many guys rated above 30. So I would really like to know what Stevens thinks ranking wise. They spent way more time working out likely undrafted guys, than guys that could fall to them! You could certainly make the case that workout schedule is more geared towards taking two guys in 2nd round than hoping someone falls. Does Stevens have a history of only taking players he works out?

No idea on Steven’s history… Guys limit who they workout for, like Filipowski worked out for teams in the top 20… you can argue stuff like that makes a guy fall even more because if he makes it past the teams he worked out for then the other teams have less info and stick with guys they know better…

One of the things Boston needs to avoid is mediocre “high floor” shenanigans in this draft. Players who are pretty good at everything with decent size end up being stars on Maccabbi Tel Aviv (see Jalen Tyson, Dillon Jones). You’re better off drafting a player with an elite trait like Ryan Dunn and hope he can learn to shoot corner 3’s than someone who isn’t better than your rotation players at anything.

Give me the two way 3 and D wing with an NBA body over Dunn who can't do anything on offense! Tyson and Jones are crazy different players. I'm not taking Dillion Jones at 30, Tyson would be awesome.

Imagine Ja coming around a Zach Edey screen. Scary. I’m an Edey believer.

A 3 and D defender that can shoot, rebound, drive, pass and play D is a bad thing for you? Seems like a perfect fit and would fit right in playing team ball movement Basketball for this Celtics team. Seems like a perfect role player for the Celtics and frankly most NBA teams.

Blazers trade for Avdija is basically the Celtics trade for Jrue minus Rob and a year less of Malcolm, which is uhhhh certainly a choice. Celtics really got Jrue for nothing.

The reason the Celtics were the Celtics was a bunch of two way players, not Ryan Dunn one way players like Dallas. Nevermind the roles you are talking about develop in the NBA. Imagine thinking Grant Williams on draft night would be a 3 point shooter. What was Jaylen Browns elite skill coming out of the draft?
