Thought this through a bit more and him getting to Portland is the "top 25 prospect in the game" track. It's much more likely he splits next year between Salem and Greenville and gets to Portland mid-2026. Not impossible though.

Could also happen by mass upward movement of a good portion of Portland's team.

They're not going to promote Arias just because there's space if that's what you're getting at?

They're not going to promote Arias just because there's space if that's what you're getting at? Agreed but he's said to be advanced so a chain movement isn't out of the question. In any event, I agree, he won't be promoted until he checks the boxes they set out.

I'm sure playing time is part of the equation. You don't see solid prospects promoted to sit on a bench.

I'm sure playing time is part of the equation. You don't see solid prospects promoted to sit on a bench. Correct but that's why you might wait to promote a guy a few weeks, not why you'd push him. If they need to create playing time, it's not necessarily the top prospect who gets pushed. I'm reminded of Mauricio Dubon having to move up to Salem because Greenville had Guerra, Moncada, Devers, and Chavis who all needed every day reps.
