This will be 3.5 out of the last wild card, yes? That's a pretty perilous position. But reason, justice, and the world-shaping power of the netflix narrative arc all suggest the Royals should stumble when their schedule turns rough in late August, just when the Red Sox' schedule softens up. The Twins have been overachieving, too, especially given their injuries; they might fall back to earth as well. Im not all that concerned with the amount of games back. The biggest key is nobody else to pass betweem Sox and WC. Its just up to the boys to start winning more games. Getting players back and an easyer schedule will definatly help.

You guys should’ve come to the game today. A lot of empty seats. It was evident on TV. Such a beautiful stadium and a young exciting team - mystifying why they can't fill those seats. We went to some games when we lived in Philly and Raleigh. Fun experience! Lived in Northern Virginia for a decade and a half, and went to more Orioles games than Nats games (in part since the Sox were there more often, and in part because it was more of an "event" to go out there). It used to be on a Red Sox weekend it'd be a near sell out in the spring for an August series. I was SHOCKED to see so many empty seats on a Sunday now that the Orioles are good and since the Red Sox still draw a little on the road. It does make me worry a bit.
