This iteration of the team without Marte and Walker is not particularly good. Gallen is pitching well, but we should be winning. Just can't lay off curveballs in the dirt ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I see a very good, well managed, sound team in AZ even with the injuries. The third best OPS in their starting lineup is .736. This is NYY without Judge and Stanton the other S guy. Their pitching is good, but unspectacular. We are making Gallen look a lot better than he is. He's been behind a lot of guys and has been let off the hook by people swinging at balls. Lovullo is awesome though, agreed. Wish we had him instead.

They are both ear poison to me. Totally different for me. They both have the goofy yokel persona (which Millar cultivates despite being from Los Angeles...) but Papelbon says insightftul stuff about the game insead of constantly derailing into inane blather. Well he's inane bantering now with Carrabis about some something those guys did sometime. But maybe I just tune him out by habit -- so, honest request: what one thing have you learned about baseball by listening to Papelbon?

Gallen finallyyyy gonna be out of the game - our bullpen not imploding here would be super great

I see a very good, well managed, sound team in AZ even with the injuries. Yeah, they are 5 games better than the Red Sox and very importantly, get the damn hits when runners are on. Very good team. They are the most clutch team in the majors this year. For me this screams "lucky" more than good with how fickle clutch stats can be, but must be nice.

Wait a minute. Youkilis thinks it was Billy Beane who named him the Greek God of Walks? It was Michael Lewis!

Well, atleast tonight we've got Valera and Sandlin going which'll be fun to watch, also seeing Anthony and Campbell just play in general is fun.
At any rate though, it is only 2-0. Kutter pitched a solid enough game, we just need to get some dang runs.

That's a NESN production (always terrible) call; they brought Carrabis into the booth specifically to initiate inane blather.
I have gained some nice insights at several points in this game about how the pitchers are approaching at bats. It has enriched the viewing experience for me.

If we don't get Slaten/Hendricks back soon, this season is sooo sunk.

Devers has been on base all three times. Everyone else is 1 for 18 with 2 BB and 9 K's

I’m old enough to remember when this team was defined by comebackability and scrappy grinding to get back into games. It’s two runs- bloop and a blast - let’s go.
Edit: Three runs. Bloop, walk and a blast.
Edit 2: Four runs. Bloop, walk, back-to-back blasts.

No thing in baseball makes me angrier than that thing. GRRRRRR.
Edit: I'm in my mid 50s, and am confident I can put one in the zone - even if it gets killed.

I love essentially walking Carroll on purpose to load the bases, then walking the next guy. Galaxy brain Red Sox strats.
I would have just destroyed Perdomo at third base, which they had ample time to do, but that's just me

well, three more chances to get even.
losing 2 of 3 wouldn't be a death blow, but we are on the edge
