Wink blow torch. See you tomorrow. At least Campbell continues to rake.

Gonna be 4.5 back with 35 to play. That's starting to edge toward long shot territory.

Totally agree with Youk. Sox have been killed by strikeouts and dismal work with risp this season.

This game is cooked. Let's PH Gasper and see what he looks like behind the plate.
Gotta get some entertainment value out of this goat-f*&k.

If we're going to be down by 7, can we atleast make it 8 so we can watch some position players pitch? Either that or a great comeback, but idk if the Sox have it in 'em tonight.

Jansen has 4 hits in his last 31 at bats. Connor is 0 for his last 11.
Catcher spot becoming a black hole.

Winckowski staying out there, which, given the score...yeah, might as well.

We’ve had our eyes on the Royals for a while, but the Sox at least have agency when it comes to the Twins because they play them again. While the Royals have the aforementioned tough schedule, we’re left to hoping that they actually fall apart. Which is a hard ask for the team that has Bobby Witt

OK. One last post and maybe this makes you smile a little. I popped a good beer when we said goodbye to him. Glad he is the MFY's problem, not ours.

After this Sox will be 67-60, and will be 3.5 - 4.5 back of MIN and KC for WC2 and WC3.
Last year at this point they were… 67-60 lol
(They were 4 back of SEA for WC3, with the Blue Jays standing between them and SEA. From that point on the Red Sox were tied with the White Sox as the worst team in the AL, finishing 11-24.)

The sox continue a worrisome trend of being dog poop at home.
This is like the 3rd season where this has happened

Why does it feel like Winck has been pitching for about 10 innings tonight.
Sad to see him being Barraclough-ed

To be a little optimistic, the Red Sox can still salvage the series with two straight wins and then move on to the Blue Jays who have been playing decent, but, aren't as good a team in theory.

Last season they were coming off of a head-scratching offseason, but were hot in the middle of the season and there was a lot of buzz about all the young talent starting to contribute in Boston until they faded down the stretch. Whereas this season...
Breslow's about to be fired, is what I'm saying.

The zillion dollar question - why does this Red Sox team struggle so badly at home? Thoughts? Ideas?

Arizona is impressive - tonight they showed great pitching, smart offense.
We were not - awful pitching, awful offense, iffy defense.
