Only 1 game, but Darnold looks pretty decent with the Vikings. Daniel Jones showing why the Giants were interested in trading up for Maye. Probably should have taken McCarthy, Penix, Nix or even Rattler.
I actually feel really bad for Young. He really can not play football. Team is bad, but he seems like he doesn't have a lot of talent.
Justin Fields looks good. He might make the decision to start Wilson a hard one.

Seeing Mayo being all smiles and guys going crazy bumping him has made me a believer. I’m a softie!

Couldn’t have drawn it up any better. This team is going to be competitive in a lot of games if they can establish the run consistently

Bengals allowed 4.7 ypa last year, we got 4.6 today running. A lot of positives, but they need to include those deep passes that Cleveland did for years. What Titans next week? Oh boy the hype train is going to get going.

If they aren't going to turn the ball over, have some consistent rushing, and have a strong kicking game they have a reasonable chance at 6w. Of course basing things on the lackluster opening Bengals had, is probably a mistake. Cinn. coach should have told them at halftime ' Get with it, Preseasons Over!'

Maye and Penix the big winners from the rookie QBs so far. Long way to go (and two games barely started), but makes me laugh a little to see Nix and Daniels playing exactly like who we thought they were in early going. 13-23 and a combined 66 yards. Now THAT'S what I call dink and dunk.

Yeah and Caleb Williams didn't even have a 100 yards either. It's why you sit the QB till you get everything else figured out. I don't see how this helps any of these young QBs.

Also early, but Micah Parsons is basically living inside Deshaun Watson's jersey, and definitely in his head. Couldn't happen to a worse guy. I'd love if that dude was cooked.

Maybe I’m off here, but I’m curious if one of the effects of teams increasingly punting the pre-season makes it harder for rookie QBs for chemistry and timing reasons.

It's just hard for rookies in general, nevermind when the teams haven't gotten fully up to speed.

Troy Aikmen, Payton Manning doing really well as a rookie isn't easy. Yeah punting preseason with one less game and just as important way less padded practices in the Summer now. Veteran teams that have played together have a big advantage, unless that team is the Bengals lol.

The biggest mess ever trading for Watson, after that crap he's never been the same, no matter now many weapons they give him. Should have kept Mayfield, the picks and tons of money.

Watson’s fall off has been remarkable. First Brissett was better than him when he was in Cleveland- not by just a little bit either. Jacoby was clearly the better player. Now we may see Winston over him by the years end

So, unless Sow is ready to come back this week, wonder if they go back to what they tried to force on the OL:
Lowe Robinson Andrews Onwenu Okorafor

I don't think his body will hold up and I'm not in love with running QBs, but Commanders fans should be happy with game 1 for Daniels.

Don't disagree with what SHOULD happen. Just considering: 1. How much they "insisted" on Ownenu at RG before the last stretch of camp 2. The team not wanting to "give up" on Chuks. 3. If it's truly the "best 5", then Chuks probably has more "talent" than Michael Jordan Personally, I hope you're right. Just saying I could see them go in that direction. Related: I wonder how much of the insistence of Onwenu at RG is about a future where they see a new LT next year with Wallace at RT. Get the rest of the line "locked into place" and just add the one (albeit critical) piece. Not suggesting it's the right call. Like others, trying to figure out why they were forcing Onwenu at RG when he was clearly the best RT option they had.

Like others, trying to figure out why they were forcing Onwenu at RG when he was clearly the best RT option they had. The reality at this point is they have way more guard depth than tackle depth. Also, they’ve been saying for a while now it’s about finding the right combo that can work together. They’ve done that for 3/5s of the line.
