First tank-bowl update tonight, if the Rays beat us we will be tied with them in the standings and based on tiebreaker we would get the higher pick, putting us in the 12th spot. (which, if we can pass the Reds that would get us to 9th given that Oakland and Chicago are stuck at 10 and 11)
- Unbelievably, the Giants are beating the Orioles again in the 7th. Assuming we lose, we will be just one game back of them.
- Cardinals are winning in the third, we already passed them in the tank standings yesterday, but they're on track to another win so we can gain some distance from them.
- Reds are losing still in the eighth, so still back 1.5 assuming we lose.
- Rangers/Jays just started, tied in the second. Assuming we lose we will be two games back of one of them, and three games back of the other.

A higher draft pick is always nice, but the core of this team is going to be playing in 2025, hopefully into the post season. I'd rather they go down fighting and clawing till they're mathematically eliminated. Not because of some mythical "momentum" but for their own psyches. Right now they're 2 years in a row chokers and folders and quitters. And they need to stop being that.
