That is not harsh at all. Considering the other options, it would be very bad if he is on the team. Yeah, i just hate being so negative on any Sox player. I want to see them all succeed. But I have just seen enough here and I can't help myself. He is the closest thing to a 0 tool player I can recall seeing in my life.

He is the closest thing to a 0 tool player I can recall seeing in my life. He has some power against righties, but can't access it against lefties whatsoever. Like I complain about Abreu not being really able to hit lefties, but Valdez is that to the extreme... add to that his lack of any defensive ability... it's hard to find where he fits in on a team with so many good lefties. Devers shoulder bothering him throwing now? It's been like this the second half pretty much.

Valdez is OPSing .720 against RHP and has improved his defense at 2B this year. He's 25 years old.
He may be a flawed player, and ultimately not a fit for the 2025 team, but he actually delivers offensively against the majority of pitchers in the league.
So he has a role, and may get better.

couldn't go home ? was the infield in ? GD !! If Devers wanted the DP, he should have made a better feed to 2B. Double fail. But at least he didn't drop the ball or air-mail it. Shoulder's connected to the neck which is connected to the skull which is connected to the frontal lobes. So gimpiness spreads, I guess.

I agree with most of what you said. The 2B depth in the org is phenomenal. Hope it actually translates next year (Campbell, Grissom, Mayer, etc). Valdez is pretty buried on a reasonably healthy RS team.

If Ceddanne was running hard he may have had a shot at 3rd.

CR is probably the best-timed underwhelming hitter I have ever seen.
He's like the anti-Tony Clark.

Glad Cora is letting TON hit. He has had really solid AB tonight (uncharacteristically)

Devers shoulder bothering him throwing now? Unable to find the tweet but Cora said Raffy's shoulders were actually better than they were.

Another K fest tonight - up to 11. Playing that same old song - 1-9 risp, 8 lob.

The inference being that Fatse is as overrated as Clapton? I wholeheartedly agree.

You can bring the youngsters up for a look see, but do you really want Fatse working with them? they take walks along with solid hit tools and Fatse would screw them up royally.
