Aaron Judge's overall playoff numbers are pretty bad. I thought this was an overreaction to this one series/playoffs. He seems to get all the home runs and RBIs out of the way before October. It wasn't all that long ago when folks were saying the same about mookie and his playoff #s. Happens to great players sometimes. Doesn't make me sad to see judge not getting it done in the playoffs I will say that much.

Judge is definitely pressing and is in his own head which is compounding his issues. It’s awesome.

I enjoy good close baseball games, so it would have been nice to see the Yankees make a series out of it. Nevertheless I have rooted for them to be blown out each and every game. I hope they get swept.

Judge is building quite a large sample size though.

Sweep this thing so we can get to the business at hand. Building out the 2025 Red Sox.

I prefer the time before that in 1963 when the Dodgers swept them. They lost the WS the following year in 7 games to the Cardinals and then underwent the Horace Clarke era of mediocrity for 11 seasons where they didnt see the postseason.

Today I learned the Yankees haven’t had a home run by a first baseman since July 31st, when DJ LeMahieu did so against the Phillies. I will now proceed to throw salt over my left shoulder

I always hate the argument "he was thrown out, therefore it was a bad send." It was a perfect throw; if a guy gets thrown out on a perfect throw then it was a good send because most throws aren't perfect so they had a good probability of scoring when they sent him.

Maybe, but you should also be factoring in "Stanton gets hurt trying to hustle home and is out for the rest of the series" which is a higher-than-usual possibility given his leg problems. We're talking about a player who is specifically instructed not to run out ground balls because the injury likelihood is so great that it outweighs the chances he beats out an infield hit. I was very surprised they sent him given who it was.

Does anyone know if MLB does a PED test for all players in the post season?

He had no neck! 😀 I think you're conflating two staples of Yankee mediocrity, Horace "Hoss" Clarke & Walt "No Neck" Williams. Put the Stick at SS, Blomberg at 1st & plant Roy White 3 feet in front of the Green Monster (he was terrified of that wall), and I can daydream away an afternoon. My best friend was a devoted Yankee fan -- ahh, the torment I sent his way thanks to those gentlemen. Good times.

Horace didn't have the nickname, but was also lacking a neck!

So does Boone queue up the new Red Sox comeback/Yankees collapse Netflix doc now, or wait until the morning EDIT: jinx Am I the only one who is actually worried that it could happen? You would think four World Series titles would erase the doom and gloom thinking, but I just can't think about how horrible it would be.

As funny as it would be if the Yankees won tonight and their fans had hope for like 18 hours before Gerrit Cole gives up like 9 runs tomorrow, I agree I would very much just like this over with. End it tonight, LA

I'm not saying the Yankees WILL comeback, because that's kind of crazy, but I think theyll belatedly make a Series out of it. I wish the Dodgers would give Knack a start and a long leash and let him get as many outs as possible and save the pen so its not overly taxed tonight and have that spill into tomorrow. I mean I dont care if Knack gives up 7 runs - it's just one game. Manage to have the pen as fresh as possible for Game 5 and beyond. Man, I hate bullpen games. When Arizona pulled that crap last year i knew they were screwed. But while I can see the Series going back to NY, it would be a tall order to win twice in LA, and Yamamoto is a helluva pitcher, so Game 6 is a favorable matchup in Game 6 and Buehler doesn't normally rattle in the postseason. I'd rather the Dodgers score a dozen runs tonight and bury the Yankees, but until I see the corpse of the Yankees.... At this point I like the odds and I'll certainly enjoy the 04 Red Sox and 04 Yankees references that a 3-0 deficit invites.
