Wont get fooled again. Excited about Abreu but want to see how the league responds. Gonna give it 600 at bats or so before i get fully on bandwagon.

I certainly think the .7 fWAR addition at $18 mill that might have been bidding against himself would be a pretty good place to start if you are in a firing mood. Yoshida was a bad signing. He looks bad in the field, so now, what, you don’t sign Turner, your most productive bat? Matsui was worth 0.2 fWAR his first season. Adjusting to the MLB travel schedule—not to mention the speed of the game on defense—is a real challenge, I think he’s shown enough to give him another year before calling it a bad signing. Also I’ve seen some cold water thrown on the “bidding against themselves” narrative, which I buy. It just seems unlikely to me that a model-driven team like the Red Sox would be such huge outliers. yet, most of what i read was that the league, in general, thought it was an overpay and were surprised (which lends credence to that theory). But we know you cant trust the media, so i guess there's that.

I am always nervous about how Japanese pros translate to MLB. there isn't a great track record, except for a few guys. I do think he will be a fine hitter going forward, but there isn't much else there as a pro in this league.

why ? interested in hearing your take. Because he isnt. The only people pushing that narrative are the hot heads on sports talk radio. Sale is still a denteament to this team. Cut him this offseason defaulting to anti-media bias isn't a reason, but i agree that it will be a tough call for them. And there really isn't a reason to cut Sale, since he is on the books and he is probably their 2nd or 3rd best starter, as bad as he has been. They don't have the money or alternatives to fill all the starter innings they are going to need to do.

If you want my personal opinion, which isn't all that important, I don't see how Bloom survives this season. There is no way the FSG can be happy right now. He isn’t getting fired. why ? interested in hearing your take.

such and empty feeling, watching meaningless September games. And now does the organization replace the pitching and defense at the same time ?
What is the deal with Brian O Halloran or whatever? Didn't Bloom inherit most of his staff. And if so, maybe they need to be the ones that go.

was at US Open Semifinals yesterday, good experience for Tennis fans, recommend going if you have a chance.
Checking in on this game. Not much going good lately. and we are stuck in the mid 1st round drafting. It is purgatory for organizational improvement.
And just like that, i cursed this game.

Fairbanks is filthy for sure, but he throws strikes. Just look fastball or breaking ball, don't care which and swing. Guessing won't work.

you don't see a lot of baserunners get out of a pickle. I don't think Story did well there either. He should have run the guy into Valdez.

No team has as many players that look like NFL linebackers like the Rays. Do with that what you will.
