I won't say much, just say that your assumption that if they don't sign them then they must have done a bad job scouting them is completely without merit. There can only be one team that signs these players. That doesn't mean that every other team didn't do a good job of scouting them.
Edit: Or what chavopepe2 said.

So glad we didn't select Bukauskus....Really don't want to read 1000 posts asking if we will sign him or complaining when we don't (see: Boldt, Ryan and Bregman, Alex).

Was he the one that didn't sign because he found out he had diabetes?

Draft Tracker completely skipped over the Indians last pick... I'm pretty sure it was a good one too. It was Greg Allen who fell quite a bit. It was. But it wasn't listed on their tracker, and Allen is still listed in the "Top Available"

Well they took a guy named Mookie in the 5th round who seemed to be a scout pick once upon a time.... Ockimey seems to be the Kendrick Perkins Memorial pick - a really raw athlete that they may be able to "coach up" into a true prospect with very high upside if they are successful, but also extremely high bust potential. I was thinking more along the lines of Schwindenhammer.

If Harrison is still there at 66 you've gotta do that right? I thought they were going to grab him at 33. He's a signability problem at 66

Toronto's 11th pick is protected right? No, if the person doesn't sign, TOR does not get another pick. TOR probably made a deal with Hoffman. Picks are protected for two years now, I believe. Edit: the only links I'm finding say I'm wrong. So nevermind.

I'll pile on that I'd like Harrison. If not him, and paired with an arm, I would love to see Braxton Davidson with number 33.

Chris Crawford changed his mock from Wilson at #33, to Vallot at #33. And from Fedde to Fisher at 26

Laws last mock. insider.espn.go.com/mlb/draft/mock/?season=2014&version=4&source=Keith-Law-Mock-Draft26A.J. ReedSCHOOL: KentuckyHT: 6-4WT: 245POS: 1B Analysis: I don't think the Red Sox would love my top-25 projection -- as it deprives them of a lot of guys they like -- but I've heard them almost exclusively on college bats here, and the best ones available would be Reed, Alex Blandino, Matt Chapman, or maybe Mike Papi or Sam Travis. I keep hearing them with Chase Vallot at No. 33. PLAYER CARD Yuck.

It was fun following things much more closely last year because of the high pick but it's comforting to go back to my usual routine of not paying much attention until draft night and letting you guys tell me whether to hate the picks or love them. Just hate them up front, that way in a few years you can say how much smarter you are than the Sox FO...

Callis and Mayo have their mocks out. Callis has Fedde and Reed, while Mayo has Kopech and Blandino.

It wouldn't be a huge overdraft, but there should be better arms available with that pick. I'm higher on fellow UNC commits Cam Varga, JB Bukauskas, Joey Gatto, and Mitch Keller, but there isn’t a whole lot separating them. Bukauskas wants to attend college; otherwise, he would likely be gone before #33. Varga turns 20 this year and has had tendonitis, so he's got some red flags. Gatto is a high-ceiling, low-floor pick. Keller is very interesting if he falls to the 2nd round. There are so many interesting pitchers in play for #26 and #33, including Medeiros, Adams, Kopech, Griffin and Ortiz. I like all of them better than the UNC kids. Do you like Medeiros? The arm slot alone scares me enough to look somewhere else...

If they are going high school pitcher I would hope there is a better one available at 33, but Flaherty is ranked 39 by BA (56 by Crawford), so it wouldn't be a huge reach.

Farrell is finally figuring out where his bread gets buttered. It's Bogaerts. But we knew that 6 weeks ago. It took him longer than anyone on this forum. I'm curious, specifically, why you think this.
