Verdugo for Blake Snell. Who says no? Boston - I use Duvall/Ceddanne to play of. And, Snell gives us a chance to win it all. He’s a free agent. But we get a few months to negotiate with him. I’d try to pick up a 2b if this happened. SD - Get Verdugo for 1yr 2 months instead of Snell for two months. Allows them to trade Soto for as much pitching as they can get. Keeps this season alive if they get hot. While, making next year much more manageable. Can we actually afford to trade Duggie if Raffaela is not ready? DRS: Verdugo = +12 Duvall = -1 Refsnyder = -2 Duran = -3 Yoshida = -5 I’ve never seen Ceddanne in person. Those who have say his of defense is great. How many runs saved does Snell give you?

I love this trade proposal, have literally no idea if I would agree to it if I were the Red Sox, and I think it would break my brain if it actually happened. (Fwiw, SD could just move Soto to DH in this scenario. OF defense of Verdugo, Grisham, Tatis would be insane.) If SD wanted to keep Soto, they wouldn’t do this. My assumption is they don’t want another mega deal for Soto.

When he said that he feels like a difference maker over a month ago. Before he really was. I’ll admit that I had reservations about his ego getting on the way of his development. He sure has appeared to turn the corner into being a difference maker. 2 bombs off Scherzer and a moon shot off Strider who couldn’t get him out. No longer worried about 1b for a long time.

Do we eventually bat him 2 or do we bat him 4? I’m leaning 2 I can’t wait til we roll into Yankee Dog(Taxi joke) Stadium with all lefties in the lineup. Duran Yoshida Meyer Devers Casas Verdugo Anthony Teel Romero

Schreiber again. I'm not sure about this. Bizarre choice. Wink on two days. Or, Martin. He faced one batter last night. Cora got lucky there.

Obviously, not comparing the players. But, Nomar walked 35 times 734 pa’s his roookie year. And, 33 in 654 pa’s his second year.

Line-upage: Duran LF Turner 2B Yoshida DH Devers 3B Duvall CF Verdugo RF Casas 1B Wong C Chang SS Bello P When Story comes back. That’ll be a helluva lineup. Not bad now.

Give me Lance Lynn ( his crazy high HR/FB is due for a regression) with some cash consideration for salary cap purposes..surprisingly the Red Sox aren’t one of the 10 teams on his non-trade list. I’ll also take a slick fielding middle infielder who bats left like Nicky Lopez and call it a day Good guesses. I think we end up with Lynn.

I absolutely agree that Rafaela needs to stop swinging at bad pitches, I just think walk rate is a bad proxy for his selectivity. He’s always going to be a free swinger. Given his profile at the plate, I would rather he put balls in play early in the count than take pitches for the sake of taking pitches (which will lead to more walks but also more strikeouts and weak contact). I am far more concerned about his increased strikeout rate than his minuscule walk rate in AAA. Last nights game was on local tv. So, I got to watch his at bats. Not sure what his setup was before. But, at the beginning of each ab he would lay his bat down over the plate so he had a good indicator of outside corner. He appeared to be conscious of not chasing. He is just 22 and missed a year of development due to Covid. It will certainly be fun following his development.

Really need 2/3. 3 games out of last playoff slot.

Some fun offseason arguments headed our way if Rafaela hacks his way to a 900 AAA OPS the rest of the season Gotta be our second baseman if he finishes AAA strong. Can play SS on Story’s days off. Allows you to keep a better bat like Arroyo.

7 pitch ab for Ceddanne. Blasted a triple over CF’s head. Should have been a double. Threw to 2nd instead of cut-off man. 106.2 exit velo

Ceddanne already 1/2 and now draws a walk. Took a 3-0 pitch that may or may not have been a strike on outside corner. Great eye😉

I’m ok with just getting a starter. Whitlock, Hauck and Sale will not have time to ramp up and start this year. All three go to pen IMO.Kutter is my 4th starter and Pivetta/Murphy 5th. That’s a pretty good pen. Jensen Martin Schreiber Whitlock Hauck Winckowski Murphy Bernardino
Not even counting Sale and Rodriguez. or Kluber. If all the 2b struggle. Why not Cedanne?

Better off just waiting until offseason when it only costs money. Exactly. I’m guessing he stays on West Coast. But, if he’s interested. Here’s an angle to work with him. Only pitch once a week. Like Japan. Saturday games only. Why Saturday? He would never pitch after traveling the day before. Rainout? He can pitch on Sunday. You’d get 26 starts a year instead of 30-32. Might keep him on the mound deeper into his contract. 10/550 would be my guess. Live from Fenway Park Shohei Ohtani

We could have an all lefty lineup in 3-4 years. C Teel 1b Casas 2b Romero - I think Yorke gets dealt. SS Marcelo 3b Devers LF Duran CF Anthony RF Verdugo DH Yoshida
Let’s convert Fenway into a short porch in right😂

I know ya’ll gonna hate this. But, would you make a real trade. Casas + for a pitcher who’s not a rental? Turner is better right now. Offensively and defensively. He has an option for next year. I’ll worry about 1b in 2025.
If not that, I’d try to get E-Rod back.

We’ve talked about the Big 3 quite a bit when they were at Portland. Marcelo, Cedanne and Yorke. But the Big 3 at Greenville right now is going to be fun to follow for the rest of the summer. Anthony, Jordan and Bonaci. All three are raking.

Blaze with HR #11 on the year. If he hits 20 HR and 900 ops in High A at 21, who gives a bleep if he’s a R-R first baseman. Why is that still a thing? May have been important back when there were a lot of bunts. Kind of irrelevant which hand he is.

Cora is probably bummed out that it’s an off-day and he can’t sit Duran after his 4 doubles yesterday. Made him run back to Boston tho.
