Workman with a 95 mph strikeout pitch. I didn't know he could throw that hard.

This doesn't look too good. The bullpen is going to get a workout tonight.

Slumping can be contagious and it certainly seems to be with the Sox. The first six batters went 2 for 23. I don't think the Devers decision was hard to make.

I always have been dubious of newly signed players getting extremely high ratings. I especially am dubious of high ratings for teenage international players who, so far as I know, no one on the board has seen play.
KLaw, in a recent piece, wrote that there are rumors that teams are recruiting international players three years into the future, which means they are recruiting 13-year olds.

I never was a big fan of Lowrie and I don't think he helps this team to the WS. At this point I think the Sox should bring up Devers. I think there is a reasonable chance he could be another Betts. I don't see a downside to giving him a shot.

Gameday says Pillar was allowed to go to second on defensive indifference. Really? He was free to get into scoring position. Is Gameday correct?

I am not in favor of trading for a rental. I am in favor of trading for a game changer, someone who could take the place of Ortiz. I am completely convinced that no such trade can be made at this time. With Kelly injured, the Sox may have to get another RP. That might be all they should do.

Send Workman down and release Fister. Bring up Maddox and Taylor.

Napoli can still hit the high fastball but not much else. He is one of my favorite former Sox players.

Two of the Sox outfielders have heated up a bit. The other is an All-Star, who, incredibly, went 0 for 6 tonight.

According to Gameday, Boyer jut threw a 95.7 MPH fastball. I thought he was a junkballer. He seems to be quite a find for the Sox.

Was there an injury? Gameday says injury delay.

To me, a fan of the Sox from when I was kid, the greatest game of all time was the fourth game of the championship series in 2004.

This may be the weirdest boxscore I ever have seen. The first three batters are 0 for 12. The next six are 14 for 21.

Whatever Henry Owens did to change his motion he should forget about. I was a pretty bad pitcher many years before he was born and I never walked 6 in an inning. Just dumb luck can get the ball over the plate more than he did tonight.

Between the Draft and the International signings, the Sox will have added 60 players. That's amazing. I wonder how many of them will still be playing on a Sox team by the end of next season. Half of the international crop are right-hand pitchers. Only 1 LHP.

Is it possible he wanted more money than any team would pay him as a draftee and then the Sox met his number outside of the draft? I assume that would be legal. There is no bonus amount listed on the board's draft list.

Arnold was a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American Southeast - All Region 2nd Team and he was the number 1 ranked 3B in Georgia. He had a 3.83 GPA and had committed to college. He well might be a find.

If Chavis keeps this up, and Devers does as well, someone has to change position. The OF is full. I think it has to be 1B. Both appear to be much better hitters than Travis. I think he is the trade chip, not either Chavis or Devers.

I would have preferred the Red Sox sign Plouffe over Peralta. At least we know Plouffe can still play the position and hit an occasional homerun. Not sure what Peralta can do at this point. I guess he gets the month of July to audition. Come August if he fails it's either Devers or sayonora Chavis for Moustakas/Frazier/Lowrie/Freese. I cannot imagine any scenario in which Chavis gets traded. I suspect half the people on this board weren't born the last time someone with this kind of power was in the Sox minor leagues. He may have Triple Crown potential. We'll know more before long.

On Gameday, what is the difference between the red and blue boxes?
