Theo grabs Sands, I would have to assume they have a lot of pool money left after what seemed to be an underwhelming haul from yesterday.

These first four picks inspire a lot of confidence. Travis I'm not sure about, but there is an organizational hole at first so I guess he's worth taking a shot on. Both pitchers are hard throwers and Chavis just seems like a fan favorite from day 1. Nice job Ben and staff.

Solid choice. So far so good. Sawdeye doing some things that I didn't expect this year. Awesome mix of power and power fastballs. Agreed on all points here. This is shaping up to be a really nice, balanced portfolio of bats and arms for the system.

Chris Oliver who couldn't have picked the worst time to DUI off the board to The Phils. There is never a time to DUI but leading up to the draft is more stupid.

Cosart does potentially fill a type, having just converted to pitching. Reminds me a bit of Smith last year.
And for everyone saying this seems like the best draft they've had since 2011,it probably has to do with the talent pool being better than the last two years. Have seen that in a few places, so not just responding to one poster or anything.

Here is Sickels in May 2013 of Jarred Cosart "The problem for Cosart boils down to command of his secondary pitches. At times, his very hard curveball is simply overpowering and too much for most hitters to handle in combination with the heater. However, his command of the breaking ball comes and goes, thanks to inconsistent mechanics and a wavering release point. He hasn't shown much of a change-up in the past, leading many scouts to rate him as a future reliever. One PCL observer says it has improved this spring, though it still needs work." www.minorleagueball.com/2013/5/29/4371182/prospect-of-the-day-jarred-cosart-rhp-houston-astrosNot very good yet, but he is in the majors, and starting, albeit for Houston.

Red Sox pick Stankiewicz out of Semonile State JC last year. They know the school well. Like them going after power arms this year. Probably very signable for slot $ too. Different schools, Stankiewicz went to Seminole State in OK and Cosart is from Seminole State in FL.

Four picks until the Red Sox.
Foley, Allen and Soltis are the top three on my board.

Working on the fly here but Montes de Oca looks like he would be a huge upside guy coming off of TJ
Greg seems to fit out strategy though. Lead off type college bat. Good defense profile.

Saving money for overslots later. To be expected, now hopefully this year they don't leave the money on the table.

Saving money for overslots later. Why exactly do teams do that? Why not just take the overslot guys you want to take and then take the nobodies?

Slot for pick #134 is $377,000. McAvoy isn't going to sniff half of that. Likely save upwards of 200-250K for Overslots.
