No truth to the rumor the Red Sox have traded Holt to Toronto to pitch the rest of the game.

Joe C. with the great call, "mercifully Jon Gibbons come to the mound to relieve Mills" Sitting in the Jays dugout, he looks absolutely shell-shocked. The team therapist needs a quick ring... And now Holt is showing off.

I'd like to see a starting nine comprised solely of Brock Holts. Alas, cloning technology has only come so far.

If that happens, I take back about what I've said re: Ben holding onto guys too long. How can you claim Cherington holds on to prospects too long without knowing what we were offered? What prospects have stagnated that we could have gotten something for? I don't really care what he's offered in regards to guys like Carp and Peavy. I wasn't talking about prospects.

Holt is a better outfielder than infielder. It is pretty amazing that he never spent anytime in the outfield before. Mookie looked a bit lost out there and Holt looks like he has played it for years.

We didn't get offered anything for either guy.

Francisco's range at 3B is about 6 inches. Worse than Jeter going to his left

And to think some of you wanted to trade drew to another team for a bucket of used baseballs and a broken hitting tee.
Shame on you, the guy is a killer!!!!!!

3 hits for Xander and his hardest hit ball was an out. Don't care how bad the pitchers are that's good to see.

Wasn't Rogers Center the place where we got to know Mike Carp's knuckleball? Wonder what sort of pitches the Jays' position players can throw...

Nice commentary about all the great Puerto Rican catchers from the Jays announcer with Vazquez up at the plate.
Add: Lackey might be able to pitch two 9 inning games tonight.

If you say so. Carp should have been dumped in the offseason. No kidding, I mean he had a lousy 140 wRC+ in 2013, I really can't fathom why BC wasted a roster spot on him.

They need to save some hits for the next three games.
Maybe promote middlebrooks, Toronto is a place he usually hits well.

Aww - an at bat for the manager's binky. It's nice that Pedroia is getting a break but I can think of a couple of players on the Sox bench more in need of playing time than Gomes...
