I'm glad the team has showed their true colors before the trade deadline and not after. Time to sell.

Boras clients have signed extensions. You know what a great way to convince one of them not to sign an extension would be? Artificially manipulating his service time to gain a year of control after he's clearly earned a major league job. It's not like Xander would be the first player to have earned a major league job and then lost it. Playing time needs to be earned. That applies regardless of who you are or who your agent is. 69 games played, a .260 batting average, 64 hits, 7 HRs, 9 doubles, 5 triples, 104 total bases, 45 RBI, and an SLG of .423 might sound fine to you but 52 Ks justifies a demotion.

The roster would only have about 6 players on it.

Well, that little ray of hope was fun while it lasted ... the For Sale sign is now out and lit.

They refuse to even put up competitive AB's against him. Stroman's stuff is nothing special. There's no reason not to be working him right now. Come on, man.

Brian MacPherson ?@brianmacp 3m David Ortiz appears to have hurt himself on his checked swing. He's coming out of the game.

John Tomase ?@jtomase 2m This may mean no Ortiz vs. David Price tomorrow in Tampa, which we were hoping would follow in the tradition of Ward vs. Gatti.

Regarding the kid Stroman. I remember the draft and either Mayo or Callis said we would of drafted him if he came to us. I think the Blue Jays were one pick in front of us.

They picked Stroman at 22, the Cardinals picked James Ramsey at 23 and we picked Marrero at 24. We were also one pick behind the A's when they picked Sonny Gray the year before.

Don't remind me of that, I remember when I was getting hype like crazy on the idea of us getting Gray (which was my binky at that draft). I hate you so much Billy Beane.

I really wanted gray and we came very close to having a shot at drafting him. No guarantees that we would have taken him, but man it almost all came together nicely !
