I am a little surprised we have not heard of any additional signings. I have no idea if we would get any information on them anyways. This tends to happen every year though. An initial report of the first signees near July 2. Then a large wave of signings announced months later...

According to the Red Sox transaction feed the Sox have signed 16 year old Venezuelan outfielder Jose Mejias.

I juist read today that there is a Korean outfielder who may be posted soon by his team. Does anyone know anything about him? IS he a possible replacement for Margot in our pool of prospects?

SS Luis Hernandez (Venezuela 17 yr) SS Yeison Coca (D.R. 16 yr) SS Kervin Suarez (Venezuela 16 yr.) IF Jesus Chacon (Venezuela 16 yr) OF Fabian Andrade (Venezuela 16 yr.) OF Ricardo Rincones (Venezuela 16 yr.) OF Daniel Rincon (Venezuela 16 yr.) OF Pedro Castellanos (Venezuela 17 yr.) RH Ronald Gutierrez (Venezuela 15 yr.) RH Cesar Gonzalez (Venezuela 16 yr.) RH Andres Jimenez (Venezuela 17 yr.) RH Manuel Ramirez (Venezuela 16 yr.) LH Oddanier Mosqueda (Venezuela 16 yr.) RH Junior Figueroa (Venezuela 16 yr.) RH Juan Perez (D.R. 19 yr.) Edit: All deals were signed on July 2 or thereabouts and now apparently official m.redsox.mlb.com/roster/transactions/2015/07Edit2: Ben Badler expected them to be active in Venezuela this year. It seems they were.

It's Ah-Seop Son. He's 27, so he's not a prospect. The Red Sox could conceivably pursue him to fill their fourth outfielder spot. He's a corner outfielder whose strength is making contact and drawing walks. Details here: www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/11/ah-seop-son-posted-november.html

Sign a bunch of spaghetti in an under-scouted market (teams are increasingly pulling out of VZ because of economic/political unrest in the country). I bet there were at least a few cases where they got somebody who was "worth" $800K by signing a couple of his trainers' lesser-known prospects to $300K deals.

Obviously, due to volume, player pages will take a bit, but it's not like we're going to know stats or anything yet anyway.

He seems to be able to make hard contact on pitches everywhere in the zone - especially hitting line drives and homers the other way. Pretty interesting. You can't expect his skills and slash line to immediately and perfectly translate over here, but he could be a really nice player.

I know he's not posted but Shohei Otani looks mighty interesting. How much do the intelligentsia here think he'd cost if he were available? Sounds good to me.

It's a couple of years before he is posted but his reports are better than Tanaka, and maybe even better than Darvish. With the new system I think he'd get more than 200m.

16 year old Lazaro Armenteros has already been offered by a Japanese League team 15 million. Corner outfielder with all 5 tools. The Cuban Bryce Harper? www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/lazaro-armenteros-mlb-showcase-cuban-prospect.htmlMLB has to rule whether he is eligible for this year's international harvest. He missed the deadline, and I'd love to have a chance to go after him the year after. Thoughts?

He is 16 and falls under international bonus pool which the Red Sox are capped at 300k. The Red Sox will be capped at 300k for the next period as well. He'd have to be ineligible until July 2 2017 at which point there might be a draft.

In Ben Badler's write-up of Adrian Morejon he briefly mentions Albert Guaimaro, listing him as a third baseman. I believe he was initially signed as an outfielder so it will be interesting to see if Badler has the inside scoop (which is usually the case) or if it's a simple error. www.baseballamerica.com/international/adrian-morejon-highlight-video/

Badler's insights are gold: All this makes sense. The Cubans have been playing organized ball for a very long time, so their young players do also. That's a fairly large advantage. There's lots more good stuff in there.
