I mean, Bianchi is pretty much going to just sit on the bench except in case of emergency. Is there someone else in Pawtucket who you think has significantly better bench-warming skills than Bianchi? I'd be way better as a member of the Napoli fan club in the dugout.

Napoli is the first player who has been really hot on our team in so long. Victorino has a nice little stretch, but Napoli is carrying us offensively.

Remember when people were calling for 4/5ths of the rotation to be replaced as well as Napoli?

This is the Napoli that was predicted this season by most. I admit he looked lost to me and I was giving up hope even with his history of being streaky. The sample size was getting large. It made ZERO sense to me based on his past seasons, his preseason, and being in his best physical place due to surgery and more sleep.... but he looked BEYOND lost. He is the presence we need int he middle of that order and against lefties!! Napoli and Castillo could be the spark we need to get on a roll and be in first with a little streak. I expect Castillo to get going in the next 2 games after settling down. Napoli needs to financially reimburse Pedey some how..... Saved his season maybe and a much larger payday... Pedey needs a cut of his next contract. LOL. Seriously... how did Chili Davis not fix or see what Pedey did?

What is really interesting about Napoli is that his K-rate has fallen from 32.4% in 2013 to 26.6% last year and 22.6% this year.

I'm guessing that Sandoval is good enough to play but not 100%, so no point in playing him against a lefty while he's recovering.
As far as Bianchi, he replaced Victorino and the most sensible replacements for Victorino are Craig or Bradley. Since Bradley was just sent back down and Craig is eligible to be re3called on the 28th, might as well give him a few days as IF depth before recalling Craig.

You can recall whomever you want if the countermove is sending someone to the DL. Craig would have to be added to the 40-man roster and they surely don't want to do that currently, and Bradley has had enough bench-warming duty to last him for a while.

Everything pointed to a monster year for Napoli and I heard a few preseason predictions that had him in MVP consideration and he looked insane in preseason. Looks like he might have that monster year after all and we need it. I am sad to admit I was giving up hope and maybe less then a week away from joining the get him out of town asap bandwagon.

Bianchi will be DFA'd by Wednesday.. only here for a few paydays as a TY before DFA and not to mess with Craig and Bradley for reasons stated. He is gone. I think Mike Miller to AAA confirms that for me. It is a good gesture by the Sox.

I believe Bianchi wasn't even on the roster. Why not bring up Brentz, or Cecchini?

I don't like the hit and run there. Let Castillo get a good AB vs a LHP

whole pitching staff has pretty much flipped a switch (except a few normal hiccups) instantly with the new pitching coach... Miley has been very very good.

I am sure you are right but it definitely doesnt FEEL it... plus Wright has been an upgrade over Masterson.

I mean when a starting pitcher strikes out 5 times as many as he walks and he gives up 5 ground ball singles and every base runner scores, he's pitching really really well even when he gives up 5 runs.

I feel like I call out these guys when they are sucking but I also want to say when Miley did something good and that was a great hustle on that play.
Just got inside ready to watch the rest of this game.
