That could have been a inside the park homer for Holt. They need ground rule triples in Fenway out there.

I am sure you are right but it definitely doesnt FEEL it... plus Wright has been an upgrade over Masterson. Yeah, because you're focusing on the results. I mean when a starting pitcher strikes out 5 times as many as he walks and he gives up 5 ground ball singles and every base runner scores, he's pitching really really well even when he gives up 5 runs. I uderstand that and agree. Bill Parcells used to say "at some point you are what you are" or somthing like that though. :-)

I bet Mookie has 2 HR today on his two fly balls to RF if they were playing in Baltimore or NY.

Xander has been showing more drive and power lately but he still gets a large amount of "excuse me singles". lol After last year, the opposition focused on pitching Bogaerts low and outside, stuff he was trying to yank. He's adjusted, and this is part of it - going with the pitch and not trying to kill everything. He has lapses, but overall he got the message. It's all part of the learning process for what is, after all, a very young player.

People on here didn't want him to move up in the order. I wonder what happened now. I kept saying move him up.

Bianchi will be DFA'd by Wednesday.. only here for a few paydays as a TY before DFA and not to mess with Craig and Bradley for reasons stated. He is gone. I think Mike Miller to AAA confirms that for me. It is a good gesture by the Sox. A. Bianchi is a better 3B than Cecchini. And he can play SS 2B B. Holt, Sandoval, Cecchini would be 3 lefties. C. Bianchi is hitting well, Cecchini isn't D. Cecchini doesn't need to ride the pine as a defensive sub. E. Bianchi will likely be back in AAA rather than take free agency. He signed with that general understanding ... that he was AAA. F. The 25th guy on the roster can be someone who doesn't play hardly ever. G. If they brought up Jimenez, he would be more likely to choose free agency (after the brief stay) and they don't want to lose him. I don't know what happens on WED , but I'd expect Bianchi to be here for 2 weeks, barring some development.

Hanley has been beyond terrible since his return. Yeah how dare he miss two XBHs in a single AB by only a couple of inches each.

Good point, and Xanders fielding is night and day compared to last year. He looks more confident out their, more comfortable.

Hanley has been beyond terrible since his return. Yeah how dare he miss two XBHs in a single AB by only a couple of inches each. Even if that second one had wrapped around the pole Hanley still has been terrible since returning from the injury, and he is barely acceptable when he was hitting like he was in April, until he learns to field and run the bases.

Of course that is what will happen and it would probably be shocking for him not to clear waivers and wind right back in Pawtucket in a few days.
