Trying to figure out if it's a Candyman or Beetlejuice reference. Beetlejuice but good call on Candyman. Looks like Tigers got him. He'd have better numbers in the Fens for 81 games a year than he will in Detroit. And so it goes. Justin?

Yeah he is talking about Justin Upton. Bossman Jr doesn't exist anymore.

Interesting that they project Moncada to start at Portland... I would think it's Salem for a short stay.

It's not an author I am familiar with but on some levels due to Moncada's experience it makes sense, the rust is off. I'm more or less split on where I think he should start. I think he's more ready for AA than Rijo.

Maybe global warming is a Red Sox plot Salem can also have late winters as well.

Cool deal, Dan Butler is back. Signed to a minor league deal. We get to keep Danny Rosenbaum too

Cool deal, Dan Butler is back. Signed to a minor league deal. We get to keep Danny Rosenbaum too As is, without another move, to start the season, Pawt has Vazquez, Leon, Butler. I know this helps in Spring Training for workouts, ect. I would assume Butler will be gone April 1st, hopefully catches on with another team barring an injury to the sox catchers. If any one of Swihart/Hanigan/Vazquez/Leon get hurt, it's a good depth move.

BSOHL!!!!
With a blizzard bearing down, it's great to see this regular harbinger of spring ...
edit to add: But it's some bull**** if Moncada skips Salem, when Salem's going to be in this area in April.

Scott LauberVerified account @scottlauber 2h2 hours ago Farrell: Sandoval is down 20-22 lbs. since end of season. #RedSox That's better than a pound a week but not by much. That means it may stay off if he is reasonably sensible about his diet. I lost 50 lbs in 2015 and it was gradual, just about a pound a week and I did it without starving myself, just keeping the carbs away and having regular exercise. His problem is that he probably could stand to lose another 20 lbs., which he probably won't now. But it shows he is trying and that is good news.

Any weight loss with Sandoval will be undone by June. He is what he is. Just gotta hope he doesn't collapse. He's been fat his whole career and has succeeded despite it. He's going to be fat again this year and he'll have to try to do the same.

Scott LauberVerified account @scottlauber 2h2 hours ago Farrell: Sandoval is down 20-22 lbs. since end of season. #RedSox AND Farrell went on to say that Sandoval “speaks very candidly on his desire to make amends. He’s eager to get back and prove to people that he’s worthy of his deal and looking forward to getting back on the field. Good news. It really wouldn't be too much to expect the 2 guys the Sox gave 20 million/yr last off season to produce a better than average war.

Lol I wonder what the record is for the earliest BSOHL reporting. There was another report about Hanley being down like 15 pounds I think.
With both Hanley and Pablo being relative question marks, what do you guys think will happen with Travis Shaw this season? He hit 13 homers last year in a little over 2 months and I really like his swing. I'm not sure he can hold up a 274/331/491 line over a full season but in limited time he could be a valuable bench/platoon/injury backup. So I made a video for him as well as it seems people like them!

So I made a video for him as well as it seems people like them! A few things: 1. These videos of yours make me want Spring Training really badly. 2. I'd love Shaw being used in a role similar to Carp in 2013. 3. His homers seem to leave the yard very quickly and look like line drives more than moonshots (besides the oppo shots). He's definitely got a sweet swing, and the uppercut is pretty noticeable when all the swings are put together at the end. Hopefully he has a plan to get around pitchers trying to feed him high and in. He'll be a valuable guy for us.

A lot of HRs against lefties too. Love how he goes to all fields. He could learn to use the wall more in Fenway. That's some pretty easy power there, a lot more than expected.

“@scottlauber: Hanley says he ”changed something in my swing.“ Declined to say what it is. We’ll have to watch for it in spring training. #RedSox”

doesn't really belong in this thread, but on this snow day I just saw that the 6th game of the 2013 World Series is on youtube.
