Espinoza is about a half a year younger than Devers was when he debuted in the GCL.

Espinoza with 3 k's through 6ip....in the GCL. Can you say right-handed Trey Ball?
Nice to see them put him right in. I hope this kid stays healthy as all the reports so far are glowing. Even though it is a GCL game (and some DSL), they still haven't touched him up. Just scattered crap here and there. And it's very encouraging for someone so young to keep the BB's almost non-existant. That is very impressive. Send him to Lowell!

Great to see such a strong start. Assuming he's done: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 10-4 GO-FO

Great to see such a strong start. Assuming he's done: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 10-4 GO-FO 7 innings would seem like plenty, however he's only thrown 72 pitches.

Great to see such a strong start. Assuming he's done: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 10-4 GO-FO I would be positively floored if this was correct. They're on the road, so I would check the box later to see if they correct it.

It's rare for them to send a GCL pitcher out there for the sixth, and Espinoza never went more than four innings in the DSL. I'd be surprised if they went more than 4 with him here.

Shows Pimental in the 9th, still might have forgot to show a pitching change earlier though.

If these stats are right I will pee myself 8IP 3H 0R 2BB 4K and 11-4 GB to FB, but your probably right its an error as his line shows he got markedly stronger from 5-8th innings with 0H 0W 3k...but if its real que the HYPE train gentleman!!!

There is the obvious chance that hes just reading the box score like everyone else but?! theres a chance he confirmed it!

And yet another example of why we should more or less ignore his agent now that he's in the U.S.
Espinoza - 4-3-0-0-1-1 Steen - 4-0-0-0-1-3 Pimentel - 1-2-0-0-0-1
Pitch Steen Pitch indeed.

Am I the only one who still thinks "Stolmy" whenever he sees "Pimentel"?

Yeah, I think he obviously had someone telling him about his performances when he was in the DR...but now that he's in the US it is obsolete.

Out of curiosity, how much greater is the competition level in the GCL from the DSL? I think Chris once said we should think of The GCL as High School Varsity, and the DSL as High School JV. I think he meant more in terms of the difference, than in terms of the the actual talent level, which is clearly a little higher than those.

It seems to me that gcl is 18-19 year olds. While dsl is 17 to 18 yr old. I am also thinking the gcl team could beat a top hs team

It's kinda funny, like when the Chinese government quotes The Onion to make some disparaging remark about the US ... but I'm not bothered by it. I see it less as a negotiating tactic and more the expressions of pure joy from a dude who must feel like he died and went to sports agent heaven. "OHMYGOD DID YOU SEE WHAT MY GUY JUST DID?!?! I SIGNED HIM!!!!!"
