I have a soft spot in my heart for guys who throw their bodies around. Great play by Marisnick, and would be really nice to have had those insurance runs.

Good on Hanigan. I wander why the opposing teams don't try to bust him inside more with fastballs or play a short fielder about 25 feet beyond the normal 2nd base fielder position.
PS-great catch by Marisnek... He is lucky to avoid one of those spikes which hold onto the numbers while robbing Holt of at least a double.

Castiglione really gets excited about sacrifice bunts ... "Victorino gives himself up !"
AND
“Today’s lineup, I think gives us the best lineup we can put on the field,” Sox manager John Farrell said. “Recognize that it’s been quite some time since David has played first base in an American League game. It also gives us the ability to put [Alejandro] De Aza in left field. It’s about putting the best lineup on the field today.”

He can actually drive those inside pitches, not consistently, but enough to keep everybody honest. He was one of the better hitting catchers in the game during his days with Cincinnati.

Hanigan needs to get those throws on the correct side of the bag. He'd have three CS on the day if he could hit the glove.

Carlos Correa does not miss mistakes.

Man, Correa is a fine looking young hitter.

I turn the game on for the first time all day and Astros hit back to back home runs. Back to work for me.

Meanwhile, Tazawa still missing in action.
@alexspeier: Meant to mention: Ogando entered today holding opponents to a .208 avg, .643 OPS in pitches 1-25; .286/1.159 after pitch 25.
^Somebody should tell Farrell.

It's OK to say something nice about fat guys....I'll go first.
Pablo Sandoval is playing some good baseball lately. Two nice defensive plays yesterday (spun a perfect DP throw from 1B as part of a shift, diving catch in the dugout), and the bat has been much better.

Why bother? Managers can't lose many games. Just 2 in this series. And I know the game isn't over yet, but SMH, I'm so done with him.

Tazawa has been spotted sabotaged by John Farrell in many low leverage April/May situations so was unavailable today.

To be fair, this bullpen should really have more than two above-average bullpen arms.

Farrel is someone who's obsessed with making his best relievers face the heart of the opponent order (what ever the situation) so why not making Tazawa face Correa? Is 4 outs out of him too much at this point? Frustrating! Like this team last 2 seasons.

Hey look, Tazawa is up now that we're losing. Should have swept these guys but our lousy manager thought it be best to be courteous and just win 1 out of 3.

I don't see the issue, in a way. Ogando was doing OK. Sure, he allowed a baserunner, but there's no reason to panic for that. The HR ties things up right away, but it wasn't as if he was in "a peck of trouble" or anything. If you have a small reliable part of the pen and panic and go to it every time the tying run comes to the plate you will burn out the pen.
Now I realize that Tarawa is a special case here because of his time off, but I'm wondering if his time off isn't a symptom of something else -- maybe he's got a small injury that the club is trying to tide him over?

Ortiz with an extremely professional at-bat. For as much crap as he has gotten this season for the poor start/struggling against LHP, I'm going to miss the guy. Absolutely key member of the team over the past decade-plus.
