Hanley see ball. Hanley hit ball! Heir apparent at DH. Absolutely love the way this offense is clicking lately.

Good to see Hanley warming to his natural position.

I don't see the issue, in a way. Ogando was doing OK. Sure, he allowed a baserunner, but there's no reason to panic for that. The HR ties things up right away, but it wasn't as if he was in "a peck of trouble" or anything. If you have a small reliable part of the pen and panic and go to it every time the tying run comes to the plate you will burn out the pen. Now I realize that Tarawa is a special case here because of his time off, but I'm wondering if his time off isn't a symptom of something else -- maybe he's got a small injury that the club is trying to tide him over? The pen isn't good enough to "tide over" a small injury. If he's hurt, put him on the DL and get someone else in here, especially with all the off days coming up.

Hinch out Farrell'd Farrell.
Left Sipp in to face Ramirez cause he wanted to have him face Sandoval as well.
If that was Farrell leaving Layne in we would have rightfully crucified him.

Hoping the Napoli for Ortiz switch doesn't come back to bite us in the ass.

Hoping the Napoli for Ortiz switch doesn't come back to bite us in the ass. Gotta play to win, not prepare to try not to lose.

Remember when some were worried about Mookie?
Well he's not really doing anything different now.

3 series wins in a row.
This one should have been a sweep though.

Great win. Should've been a sweep, but nice comeback to keep the series streak alive.

See, what's everybody worried about with the pitching usage? It went just the way Farrell planned it. Tazawa in the 8th, Koji in the 9th to protect the lead. [/i
In a certain subtle sense I'm not being totally sarcastic. Now that the Sox offense is going better, Farrell may not feel the need to panic and go with the heart of the pen in every "crucial" situation before the 8th. Try to work through with the middle crew and if it doesn't quite work out rely on the offense to re-establish control. Until this organization officially gives up on the year Farrell isn't managing a 162-game season. He's managing for potentially 20+ games more than that.

Whew. I think this win portends good things for the clubhouse. Would LUV to see a post All-Star game implosion by the O's and the Yanks.

Cup is half full: Winning a series vs a top team is nothing to sneeze at, nor is 7-3 since starting their last road trip. Cup is half empty: However, if this streak is extended and the trading deadline passes without a top flight starter acquisition, it will be for naught.
Cup has some bourbon in it: A better record may impulse the FO to get that pitcher.

This is insane when coupled with the fact the red Sox have played like 1600 games since Ortiz last played 1B in an AL park.

RBI are kind of a silly stat but holy cow Correa already has 19 of them?
