Castillo, Swihart, Bradley, Holt with four straight hits vs Sale. Who needs Hanley and Sandoval.

This is sadly getting lost in the noise today. Wright has value for us as a longman/spot starter going forward.

I thought the previous two pages or so were a bit too depressed, there's plenty of reason to be excited for the future after all. Then I remembered there's a game on and we're going with a knuckleballer against Chris Sale. I now need a hug. Hi, knuckleball haters. How's it going?

Weird stuff... Sale is the White Sox' best pitcher, right? They had 2, the Red Sox 1 when we left. Come back to an 8-2 win. I don't understand baseball.

Say what you want about Ben Cherington, but getting Wright for Lars Anderson was an absolute steal.

It truly is absurd how they keep making the same mistakes over and over again. I watching the ridiculous stuff like that over and over again, I have no doubt that performance all around the board WILL improve when John Farrell is relieved of his duties. Hopefully they are smart enough to wait until this year ends though. You know, I'm watching the game right now after returning from town. I can't figure out what the hell you're talking about. Is it about this game?

As bad and painful as this season has been, it is really nice when all the young guys have a nice night and it all comes together. I guess all these base-running blunders are just growing experiences?
This organization could be in a much worse place. There's still a nice core to build around.

This is why you don't sell the farm to make the Wild Card game. Any team can beat any other team on any given day, even if it's Steven Wright vs. Chris Sale.

Stout win. Only smart deals on Friday now. This can be a winning team next year with a few strong moves this fall, and a little luck.

OK was Castillo's line drive shot to center the longest we have seen by a Sox hitter this year???. If that had been elevated just a little...out of Fenway?

I dunno, either that or the time he joined Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson, and Albert Pujols as the only players to hit three homers in a World Series game. One or the other.

I thought he might be done but was hoping he'd come out for the 7th, pitch to one guy, and then leave to an ovation. After 7 I was hoping the same for the 8th. I think the rookie and the fans deserved that moment, especially after the pitching in this series.
