I've never much liked McCann, but I never had quite the disdain for him some did ... until now. You see what he did when he flung his bat in the crowd in the 7th? Most guys, when the bat slips out of their hands, they wince a little and hope everyone's fine. But McCann didn't even glance over his shoulder to see what happened, just marched over to get a new bat, pissed off (at himself, presumably) that he put a bad swing on the ball. Two people were hit by the bat, and he didn't care even in the slightest.

I heard something on one of the pre-game radio shows a couple of nights ago that Wright still is experiencing some dizziness and headaches. Iy appears this concussion was worse than originally thought.

He's the biggest a-hole though and fits on the Yankees really well. Nothing he doesn't swing at is a strike, etc. The Yankees in general don't seem like the bigger strike zone applies to them, but maybe that's just my bias. They must have the lowest swing % in the majors. Just looked it up, and they do.

Or, you know, continue to despise the guy for possibly misunderstanding his momentary reaction, which is my god-given right as a fan.

All Yankees should be despised on principle alone as a baseline. From there you build a case for them as war criminals, terrorists and all around pet-kicking scumbags. Ditto for Tampa players.

He sure knows how to call a game though. Except for the mistake to Mookie, he seemed to know every Sox hitters' weak spots and when to call a pitch outside of the zone and where. Nova had nothing, but I felt McCann made him look better.
He is still an @hole, though.

Also killed his cousin in his pool: www.nydailynews.com/archives/news/2-die-rivera-mansion-cousins-electrocuted-swim-pool-wired-dogs-article-1.628064Even worse, If it wasn't for Rivera Sox may have won div in 2003. Despicable human being.

Time to see Porcello again. Was his last start against the White Sox a fluke? Or has he figured something out? He had the sinker working last time out and i do not think he threw any sliders. He looks to have dialed back the 4 seamers in favor of the two seamers, or vice versa. Hard to tell from a TV screen.

From 108 Stitches, on Mookie's bunting last night:
Preach it, Brother Lovullo. Hope Mookie learned his lesson.

Mookie does act independently quite frequently.

Like JBJ, Betts and Castillo will begin to get reps at multiple OF spots, Lovullo said. "We haven't yet clearly defined who's playing where"
Good news!

Yes, Allen, I'm sure you're a good player. Probably even good enough to get a professional gig in Korea.

Care to explain? Just wondering, because I like guys to play one position, as much as possible. I don't really want anyone else playing center except for JBJ. If it's Mookie and Castillo, I am fine with finding out which is better, wherever that may be.

This could be the team's way of getting there. They may want to get these guys to convince themselves, get that team thing going. Everyone on the site has an opinion. I like Bradley also, but others feel very strongly about Betts. Didn't Castillo play centerfield, in Cuba?
Maybe they want to get buy-in from the players. That seems like a good idea.

Apparently the permutation of the outfield spots does not begin today... but at least Craig isn't starting!

'Guy who can "head rotation" is the off-season priority' let's not kid ourselves, it's what's needed. Maybe it comes from within, but I have no problem if it is external.

Not sure if Greg Maddux, or Rick Porcello

My perception is that Porcello's delivery looks a lot calmer than it was. Whatever it is, he's very effective. Hope he can keep it up.
Add: I think I hear Eric running off to PitchF/X right about now.

Throwing strikes is the best pitching strategy against a "patient" lineup.
