Great reads by NY defense. They had a good idea where Holt was going to put that ball.

Fantastic play by Bogie, to bad a burner hit it.
ADD: Baseball Gods Karma making up for it with the slick double play.

Michael Dyer mike_Dyer13 14m14 minutes ago Dombrowski on MLB Network: 'Guy who can "head rotation" is the off-season priority' 'We view Hanley as our 1B in 2016, Shaw a fallback' This is simply posturing to make it appear they're not desperate. I don't buy it.

It's incredible to see the defensive progress Xander Bogaerts has made at shortstop. The game power will come, and it's going to be scary.

My perception is that Porcello's delivery looks a lot calmer than it was. Whatever it is, he's very effective. Hope he can keep it up. Add: I think I hear Eric running off to PitchF/X right about now. i am really curious to see what the radar tracking makes of Porcello. The ball starts with drift one way. Then reverses. There may not be much net motion but really messes up the batter.

Fun game so far.
And the BABIP gods really hate Betts.

Anyone notice how Pineda changed hats after the second inning. He had a smear of pine tar on the right side of his hat the first two innings. What a joke this guy is

The Yankees don't allow big chains, unbuttoned jerseys, facial hair or long hair, so they should make Pineda wear his stupid hat straight. Lord help us when the Red Sox get one of those idiots on the team. Get off my lawn.

Even with JBJ's bad start earlier in the season, he's on pace for more than a 7 fWAR season. Not including tonight with 2 doubles.

All aboard the Jackie train, better be real because I will be so disappointed if he falls off a cliff offensively again. He and Mookie should definitely switch positions though.

At some point, he should be considered not only "acceptable" as a major league player, but the best player on the entire team. And then one of the best players in MLB. A wRC+ of 153 for the season. 210 in August.

JBJ currently has a .289 ISO. If he qualified for the league lead it would look like this: Harper Teixiera Bradley Donaldson Cruz Trout Bautista Encarnacion Davis

Thinking about a core of Jackie, Mookie, Xander and Swihart/Vazquez makes me weak. With a revamped bullpen and a high end starter or two this team will be VERY good next year.
