I'm not there at the moment. I'm not attending the meetings, I work nearby at stroll over for a few hours at a time. I knew my Monday would be tough and may not get there until tonight, that's why I went over yesterday. All this activity sure has me itching to be there. In years past, when I've attended, the speed of reporting hasn't what it is now. Now I feel like I can be more focused while there, and maybe jump in on an interview or two. Grow a pencil thin mustache, steal a room service outfit and cart, and see if you can work your way into Dombrowski's suite LMAO. Get one of those organ grinder monkey hats also. "This cart of beverages and snacks are supplied complimentary, I'll just need two hours to set up the cart. Carry on like I'm not here. What's that? Oh no, I'm not texting, this is an application where we track our deliveries." I could pull it off; phony french accent and all.

When you say jump into an interview, what kind of interview are you talking about? Interviews with agents, ballplayers, and execs happen all the time in hotel open spaces. The media basically traps the interviewee in a semi circle. You just have to be in the crush of reporters, and you can ask any question you want. At that point, no one can see if you are credentialed because you're all crowded in. So you linger near the media, and then move toward a potential interviewee, as they crowd around, you simply turn and become part of the landscape.

Ken Rosenthal @ken_Rosenthal 1m1 minute ago Source: #Mariners making progress on trade for #RedSox’s Miley. That would make more sense than Buchholz. They need 200 innings from a starter and Miley can deliver those.

I'll guess Tony Zych and a B prospect.

Yeah but his sinker is one of the best pitches in the game.

Did I see (or dream) a report suggesting the Mariners might also get catching help from the Sox? What could that mean? Starting the year with Leon as your backup and no Hanigan?

Xander, I've heard that Scott Boras is quite fond of donuts. Perhaps you could offer him a twelve back of Krispy Kremes in exchange for a sit down with him.

Considering trades usually turn out worse for the Sox that we all initially think, I'm guessing there's no way Carson is coming. I hope I'm wrong because I think he is a best case scenario, but I'm pessimistic.

Charlie Furbush came up in the Tigers system under Dombrowski so Furbush + could make sense.

2m2 minutes ago Ken Rosenthal @ken_Rosenthal Source: #Mariners making progress on trade for #RedSox’s Miley. I wonder who Sox could get back with the price of pitching so high. I would like someone like Paxton and a RP. Maybe Carson Smith? It's got to be Carson Smith. Give me that guy everyday.

Intrigued to find out if Dombrowski could add prospect, etc. to Wade Miley and try to pry James Paxton away.
John Henry was quoted as saying “We have a lot of pitching and we have a lot of talent. We’re not going to trade away our core young players, but we might be able to get a core young pitcher. Dave is exploring a lot of other things. He’s well known as someone who’s not afraid to pull the trigger. Because of these young players we’re in good shape, not just for this year, but going forward.”

How about Carson and Furbush for Miley and a throw in?

How about Carson and Furbush for Miley and a throw in? Throw in- Marrero That trade would be even better.

I would be pretty confident in saying that Miley would be better than Furbush if you put him in the bullpen and he's under control for longer.

They've invested a lot of money in the current team, I think they are in Seattle's version of win-now mode.

And, between Marrero, Rutledge, Coyle and Hernandez, I'd feel most comfortable with Marrero if we had an infield injury and needed to promote someone for a couple of months.
