Looks better than spring training. Even then you could have well this guy can catch. Porcello loved him. Stealing strikes left and right. He does make a difference.

I love this version of Rick Porcello. The Christian Vazquez edition Rick Porcello is quite nice.

So if they ruled that a bad slide, would that end the inning with a double play instead of an error and no outs?

Christian Vazquez for MVP!!! Or at least starting catcher a few times a week.

Yeah, maybe. I dunno, if the second baseman had caught it I would be in favor of that, but total whiff by the defense. Pretty stupid by Bradley to slide that late.

Undeserved uproar, sure. It'll pass.

Undeserved uproar, sure. It'll pass. You'd want to see two outs awarded instead of one?

I bet Buchholz and Kelly have already set meetings with Farrel to convince him that CVaz should be their personal catcher.

Oh I see. I'd have to think more, but the defense completely whiffed regardless of the slide so no. If the second baseman had caught the ball and forced Bradley out I'd be OK with it being a double play.
P.S. I just got MLB.tv and realized you can enable just the park audio and it's pretty glorious not having to hear the incessant whirr of broadcasters describing what I can see with my own eyes.

This place is dead when the Red Sox are winning.

What a game by Vazquez on offence. And I guess he did okay as well defensively.

Well that's one way to do it - use the pitcher as a pinball bumper.

CV glove is so good that people think he's an all glove-no bat type of player which is simply not true:He's always been a good hitter, it just takes him a little bit more time to catch up with the competition.

He catches, he throws, he hits...I believe that's what's called making a Mookiesque entrance.

It really did not look like porcello was throwing any better or differently, but the results were sure different.
Until he got tired, he was getting monster results.
