I'm going to clarify something because I don't want to start a rumor here. In yesterday's broadcast they showed DDo discussing something with Henry while showing him some paper. That's all. I simply made a joke about DDo trying to trade away more prospects.

The 2016 Red Sox have been a historically efficient basestealing team, and have led the league since 2013: www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-red-sox-have-been-the-best-base-stealing-team-ever/Credit is due to John Farrell and the coaching staff. Despite not having a roster of burners, they've been a very good baserunning team in recent years, largely because they've emphasized taking advantage of slow pitchers and weak-armed catchers.

And possibly because whatever Hanley Ramirez does on the bases doesn't show up in basic statistics.

The Sox are starting Castillo tonight. I wonder if Brentz would be a better option ,he is playing better and just to give him one look. Castillo just sits on the bench and Farrell doesn't want to play him ,so he is taking a spot on the roster.

Was there a game on in this thread last night? Couldn't tell with all the talk about negativity and learning how to block people. Either way last night was huge, tonight is even bigger. Eduardo has got to find a way to keep these birds in their cage and prevent them from leaving the yard (homerun). The homerun is the problem with Eduardo, along with the strength to last within a full game the same way he starts a game. He started out real strong last time (94-95 mph) but then his velocity faded and he started to get smacked around by the Kurt Suzuki's of baseball. Now he faces the second or third best lineup in baseball. A team that hits more homeruns than any other team in baseball. This should be interesting. Nah, tonight isn't all that big. When you're in the situation the Sox (and the O's) are now, the big thing in a series like this is, just don't get swept and create a significant shift in the standings. Both teams have accomplished that, so tonight's game simply determines who is in first place tomorrow -- which may change the day after that. Yes, in the big picture wins in April or June count as much as wins in September. But when you are in the middle of competition and your situation is much more clear than it was earlier in the season, individual games count so much more in one's consciousness. They just do. It's the same phenomenon that occurs in miniature in individual games, when performance in the late innings seems to mean so much more than performance (or lack of it) earlier in the game, IF the game is at all competitive. The Sox scored early and stayed in front last night and everyone goes ho hum. If the O's had gotten their 4 runs early and the Sox had scored their 6 in the 7th and 8th rather than the 2nd and 3rd, everyone would be much more excited. It's the way human nature works. I disagree. Sure it doesn't make or break the season, but winning or losing tonight is a swing of two games in the standings. That's all in one game, it's pretty huge.

Lucky Machado got under that fat fastball, otherwise it's 4-0.

Don't like the location on some of these 0-2 pitches.

Don't like the location on some of these 0-2 pitches. Location has been the issue for most of the Red Sox pitching staff this year. Guys missing spots by feet and not inches, and paying for it.

That double play would have been nice right about now.

This is a really stupid observation, but I imagine that it's much easier to tell his pitches when you are watching the screen with the camera behind the pitcher than it is when you are the batter facing the pitcher.

Also, what's great is that I can guarantee you that three of NYY, Tampa, TOR, and BAL are not going to win the WS this year, or in any given year. That brings a smile to my face knowing that they are working hard, getting older, and spending money for nothing.

Rodriguez' command is pitiful, word was that he changes his mechanics during his rehab, and he felt like it helped his control, sorry but I'm not seeing that at all.

Yea at least E-Rod wasn't saddled with multiple "unearned" earned runs there. As a fielder im sure those sting even more so then your regular errors (i know that wasn't technically an error).

Either this offense is going to break through against this guy when these hard liners start falling, or the Baseball Gods just intended for us to lose this game.
