Since Kimbrel hit the DL, the Sox are undefeated.

Hanley got to come out for defensive replacement with a 5-0 lead.
I also hate this lineup with 3 lefty hitters lined up in a row.
And Hanigan is a lousy 9 hitter, right in front of the heart of the order.

Not The best win, but we'll take it.
Glad the Yankee pitcher served up a few meatballs.

Hanigan got it started, and Shaw and Boegy finished it up. Another decent start with one bad inning of work for Mr. Wright. So it's a win against the Yankees. One day closer to Kimbrel returning.

And that is why you trade AE now. The Bs are special players. And they're gonna really suck in two years when they turn 25.

And they're gonna really suck in two years when they turn 25. Because every 18 year old kid in Single-A ball is guaranteed to reach the majors and be a solid contributor in two years.

A lot of people complained that it seemed like every time our pitchers throw a meatball it gets hit a for an opposition home run. Really good to see that turn around and our guys are killing the meatballs. Ps: I expect huge things from kimbrel when he returns.

Come on man, you are stretching, you dont pull your starter throwing a 1 hitter after five. Unless I had an elite ace, I would never let my starter face a hitter three times. Bullpens are too good nowadays. Your bullpen would be toast by June 18th

Yeah, just judging by Facebook comments, Joe Casual Fan seems to think this is the best trade ever. Hey, did you know that prospects aren't sure things and Pomeranz was on the All-Star team? As compared to all of the know-it-alls on this site who seem to think this is the worst trade ever. Hey, did you know that Pomeranz might actually be a mid-rotation or better pitcher now that he is age 27 and has developed a third pitch and that the Red Sox are actually seizing an opportunity to go for the playoffs by filling their most obvious hole while not merely trading for a rental? In my humble opinion, the majority of the posters on this site embarrassed themselves last night. Pot. Kettle. Black. FWIW, I don't think it's necessarily a horrible trade, either...I was more referencing the dismissive "who cares, they're just prospects" mentality of a lot of fans (despite watching a contending team whose exciting young core were also "just prospects" 2 or 3 years ago). Certainly there have been overreactions to the trade on both sides.

@brianmacp 3m3 minutes ago With Sabathia pitching for the Yankees, Hill is at third base and Brentz is in left field for the Red Sox. Leon catching Rodriguez.

What really makes me mad is that Tazawa is saying himself that he is overused and fatigued. Even like a over a month ago when they kept warming him up and not putting him in the game he let the media and the people know that was causing fatigue.

And when that's coming from a Japanese player, you know it's really serious. Calling out your own manager isn't really a thing they do usually.

Seems like a good use of the roster to me.

I don't like to put too much emphasis on one game in the middle of July, but this is a big start today for E-Rod. How he looks today could go a long way in determining if DD goes out to make another trade. I still think the Sox need the E-Rod of 2015 if they want to truly compete for a World Series.

Seems like a good use of the roster to me. I didn't say Farrell would do a good job of it. Farrell is so bad he can't even throw games well. I do actually think Holt is better vs. LHP than Brentz, though.

Some decent contact by the Yucks there....but only 7 pitches. Reserving judgement.

What's the actual reason for E-Rod throwing so many fastballs? Almost exclusively.
