This pen management is just brutal. Losing the game all at once. Again. FTFY

This team is so damn aggravating. Their bullpen has emerged as the #1 culprit (or #2 behind Farrell) as why the Red Sox don't win as often as they should.
If they'd knock off this BS, they'd be in first place by a few games. Instead they can never quite catch up because they give games away.
At this point could Papelbon be any worse? (OF COURSE, HE CAN!! - but I'm willing to risk it!).
I have to think if it was a slam dunk for Papelbon to want to come back, he'd be here already? I think Papelbon winds up with the Cubs, but we'll see.

How do you not just throw it over the plate in that situation. Go to hell, Ziegler.

Tazawa was not brilliant, but it would notice if Zeigler could prevent all the inherited runners from scoring.

Pretty awful when the state of your bullpen has you reaching out to Jonathan Papelbon.
A GM who can't assemble a bullpen and a manager who can't exploit one is a pretty bad combination.

I'll be even sicker if KRod shuts down the Sox for the third time this season.

And just like that, pissed away a great start by Buchholz and a tremendous effort by a sleep-deprived offense - all to a team that's been on a woeful (albeit small sample) 2-8 run.

That was like watching Paul Crew start throwing the game in the second half in The Longest Yard. Except I don't think this game will even climb to reach the averageness of that movie.

"Ok everybody, breathe in through your nose and resolve your thoughts to 'this bullpen sucks'. Goood. Now out through the mouth as you whisper 'it's not Farrell's fault'. Goood."

Easy on Ziegler blame. He gave up a hit that shouldn't have been a hit, walked a dangerous hitter in JDM, and then had a bad miss on the walk to Romine. Not as good as he can be, but not like he was terrible -- he didn't give up any runs of his own, and the Sox probably would have been fine had he just had that inning to himself.

Can't blame this on DD. This bullpen would be awesome right now with Koji and Carson Smith. Especially considering Cherington gave him an absolute joke of a bullpen

Yeah, Farrell doesn't know how to manage a bullpen well, but you can't ignore that these guys have just sucked at their job of getting batters out. Tazawa/Zeigler should be able to get three outs without completely blowing the game like that.

You can't just ignore JF ruining Taz by clearly burning him out due to rampant overuse earlier in the season.
