So whats better, having Mookie behind Papi to punish teams that pitch around him or having Papi behind Mookie so he sees more fastballs? I kinda think its The second option because Mookie is more likely to chase bad pitches in pitch around situations than Ortiz. Mookie should hit in front of Ortiz because pitchers are more in the zone when there's a stolen base threat on.

Regarding Buchholz; Those who haven't learned from history are doomed to repeat it.

Another hell of a game by Buchholz. Looks the best he has in a year or more.

Pedroia's almost as good at turning double plays as he is at grounding into them!

The only predictable thing about Buchholz is his unpredictability. Hell of a game so far.

Wonder how many bullets he has left. Wouldn't object to bringing him out for the seventh on a short leash... Bottom of the order coming up.

Shaw shouldn't complain about at bats. He's K'd twice looking at two pitches down the middle.

As much as that makes sense, and as little as I trust the bullpen, I would probably replace him to start next inning. I think trying to get a 100 pitches out of him is a mistake. Given that his biggest shortcoming seems to be durability, I'd be very tempted to see what happens if the Sox kept him on a strict 90 pitch limit.

Golly... Clay was looking pretty strong there. Let's hope this doesn't blow up in Farrell's well-defined jawline this time.

Clay continues to be the most confusing pitcher of all time

I'm reminded of Jon Gruden talking to one of those rookie quarterbacks on his Camp Gruden show, "You'll never go broke taking a profit."
I think pulling Clay here is accepting your profit, gratefully.

This POS is throwing fastballs down the middle serving it up for the Red Sox and they cant do anything with them!

If Buchholz keeps this up, he'll be Michael Kopech one day.
I'm crediting jimed with the (potential) W tonight for his undying support. Great game from Clay though.

I have no doubt that if the Sox are in a playoff game that Kulpa will be umpiring the game. A Fox drama in the making.

That was a perfect throw. Mookie is one hell of a RF.
Going for third base there was a Hanleyesque mistake by KK, though.

The other team giving away outs to the Red Sox bullpen, is the best gift us Sox fans could ever ask for.
