I sorta downplayed the injury to Koji a little bit and was hopelessly wrong to do so (although, in my defense, I said it was a problem mainly because the depth of the bullpen was thrashed). Will be very nice to have him back this week. Having Koji-Kimbrel in 8th/9th will make it easier to match up other relievers in 6th/7th. Wright's situation is the only thing keeping me from declaring the Sox the best team in the AL (and possibly baseball). Still very well may be, though, depending on Clay's performance. Nothing will be easy with JFarrell

Rays just blew it. Looks like we need a win to keep pace.

Would love to see those two check swings by Bogaerts and Papi replayed. I don't think either went, but they didn't replay them.

Thanks to Steve Lyons for letting us know that Sandy Leon was hitting .500 in his last 13 at bats.

Moncada picked off after making an error last inning. Showing his inexperience...

Thanks to Steve Lyons for letting us know that Sandy Leon was hitting .500 in his last 13 at bats. So he has 6.5 hits in his last 13 at bats?

Fire Farrell for not ordering a replay review of the JM pickoff.

Jays win over the Rays is final. But hey, we got a lot more out of that series than we could have expected.

Dammit. Bout as far as you can hit a ball in that canyon without it crossing the fence.

Dammit. Bout as far as you can hit a ball in that canyon without it crossing the fence. It said 437 feet, but there's no way that can be true.

Grotesque squander, especially after the reversal.

And so much for the theories that Moncada will not see meaningful action. Shaw rose to the challenge on Friday but Farrell cooling him off nonetheless.

Grotesque squander, especially after the reversal. not really. Holt's liner was ripped but right at a fielder. Probably could have scored two runs on that had it fallen differently.

After feeling sorry for the A's the past couple of nights, I'm sure everyone here is much happier about the way today's game is going, right?
Right???

Sure, it wasn't the greatest of luck, but now you have to wonder - is this going to be ONE OF THOSE GAMES again? A close game following a blowout that doesn't go Boston's way? I certainly hope not. We'll see. Thus far the one good piece of news is that E-Rod is asserting himself as a potential #4 in the ALCS should the Sox get that far.

The Red Sox have hit like 10 balls over 100 mph in this game. It should be another blowout.

Does Mookie have 5 plus tools? You gotta rate all of his tools at least above average ...
