Does Mookie have 5 plus tools? You gotta rate all of his tools at least above average ... I'd put his speed, arm and power at 50-55, not 60. But pretty much, yes.

This plate umpire is excrement in human form.

This is the 6th game we've played against the A's and I swear I've seen Jake Smolinski lay out for 3-4 balls that he's been at least a foot away from.

Graveman is doing a great job keeping the ball out of the center of the strike zone.
Looks like next inning could be his last -- pitch count.
This is why people are paying less and less attention to wins. Porcello gets to laugh his way to another victory, ERod has no room for error. Luck of the draw.

ERod is not going the distance in this game, so don't do anything stupid by keeping him in too long.

Has E-Rod always had such a short follow through? That last K was uncomfortable to watch.

ERod is not going the distance in this game, so don't do anything stupid by keeping him in too long. The rule is you have to pull him after 5 more hitters, so he doesn't start the order a 4th time. ERod has been sitting 94-95 the past couple of innings -- actually picked up 1-2 mph after the first few innings. Good to see him with the strength to hold his velocity to this point in the game. Remember, he's still only 23 years old.

It's one thing if it weren't a tie game in the middle of an extremely close playoff race. But he has 88 pitches through 6 and is not going make it anyway.

Baseball etiquette man, you don't take him out until he given up something or flat out died. The win is more important, isn't it? Not to rehash the same old argument, I'm frankly tired of making it, but the con's of bringing in a reliever vs leaving in E-Rod when he's cruising aren't really dissimilar.

Still have a really uneasy feeling about this game....They scored 27 runs in two games like it was nothing and now that they need one run?

Can we please get a Xander in the middle?
I knew we couldn't expect first half Xander forever, but I'm done with this version of Xander. I'll take one right in the middle.

I hope he throws an "Edwin Jackson."
No hit them with 160 pitches and 9 walks.
