Koji, Vazquez, Hembree, Noe Ramirez all set to join as well. Bench getting crowded!
Now 34 of the 40 slots filled, but Wright is still there, so if he gets DLd opens up another. Would much rather give Butler a chance and say farewell to Holiday (waste of roster space), and find a way to bring Rusney back up (instead of Marrero).

Shaw is fielding ground balls in LF right now Rob Bradford @bradfo 3m3 minutes ago Farrell says Moncada to start all 3 games in San Diego. Shaw might play LF Wednesday -- Michael Silverman @mikesilvermanbb 42s42 seconds ago Farrell: If Rodriguez still had no-hitter intact after 8 innings, he was going back out for 9th. Brian MacPherson @brianmacp 2m2 minutes ago Farrell: Koji Uehara will get three appearances in "low-leverage, more spring-training-like" situations before he gets high-leverage spots."

Regarding Hanigan's win loss record, doesn't that have a lot to do with Steven Wright pitching so well early on?

What has Holt done this season to justify him batting 2nd?

If you have mlb.tv and want a change from Lyons and OB, Orsillo is working the Padres broadcast.

Regarding Hanigan's win loss record, doesn't that have a lot to do with Steven Wright pitching so well early on? Actually, he's 10-4 with Wright pitching, but was 3-4 through mid-May. The thing that superficially seems impressive is that the team is 8-2 when Hanigan has caught Kelly, Owens, or O'Sulivan. But the team has averaged 7.1 R/G. Hanigan hit .250 / .341 / .306.

Again, sitting Papi and Sandy Leon. Just moronic. Why does Pomeranz get a personal catcher?

So Moncada with his 30% K rate, the Holiday, who is like a 2nd pitcher, then a pitcher. It's like a getaway day to open a series.

At least Pomeranz won't have to run the bases.

Good to see the offense is picking up where they left off yesterday.

Sorry folks, I think Yoan Moncada will be a key player on this team, and soon. But no way should he be getting this much PT in a playoff race as if he tore through AA like Benintendi. I just think it's dumb.

This is a disaster! I can even tell just watching on television that the Red Sox cant even handle the pressure of needing to beat the Padres.

He's also played the position much more.

Shaw is not a better option. He has been Sandoval level since June. And I'm really not sure why people care about strikeout percentage. This isn't the 1990s anymore. You think the Angels cared when Mike Trout struck out 26% of the time in 2014?

Jackson is pitching great today or the Sox offense is making him look great.
