Pomeranz could give up 4 runs and we should still be mudering Edwin Jackson. The guy is horrible. Holaday is worthless. He has no place on a major league team. Horrible, and yet my pitch tracker shows him right on the edge of the strike zone or just outside to Moncada and Holiday after the hit. He's pitching tough today. If I'd be concerned about anything, it would be the brutal recent schedule, all the away games and the travel, along with games at different times which can throw off your schedule clock, combining to suddenly catch up with the lineup. Kind of a perfect storm.

He walks the pitcher. Absolutely unacceptable.
Unreal.

That should have been his second walk to Jackson. Both times, nibbling against the pitcher. Jackson is NOT the worst hitter in the Padres lineup today.

Can already feel us pissing away another opportunity to tie Toronto..... The sad part is the O's and Tigers will be catching up in the wild card race. Not gaining on Toronto but losing ground to the O's and Tigers.

Jackson really has pitched great in this game, hitting his spots all game and rarely missing like he usually does.
This is a crappy pitcher who is pitching way over his head. It's not a bad offense making him look great.

Toronto has zero worries about slipping into the Wild Card race right now.

The way that this team's offense can vanish in an instant is such a mystery. The way they've knocked around good pitchers, and utterly failed against pedestrian or worse - just one of the several baffling things about this team.

damn....this is Edwin Jackson we are talking about. He was gonna be someting years back, and we have the best offense in the AL. Why can't this play out normally?

To be fair, it's not as easy to score runs when your pitcher has to bat. It's even harder when you have two pitchers in your lineup.

Bryan Holaday was OPSing .339 with the Red Sox entering today's game. So yeah, two pitchers and a rookie. We'll be lucky to score a run.

Pomeranz drives me insane.
Throws an absurd amount of unnecessary pitches each AB.

Pomeranz drives me insane. Throws an absurd amount of unnecessary pitches each AB. By unnecessary, do you mean pitches that the other team won't swing at? That's kind of the point, when you don't have high 90's heat. He has to throw more pitches to keep hitters off balance.

Next inning - pinch hitter, pinch hitter to start. Or else, K, pinch hitter to start.

Ross should've come in as the 8th man in the lineup, not the 9th.

Ross should've come in as the 8th man in the lineup, not the 9th. Maybe they didn't care if they were going to PH for both spots in the 8th. Why burn a C unnecessarily? That way, if they want to give Leon the "day off" they could pinch hit him and put in somebody else as C, and still have another one available if they want to PH later.
