All kinds of stuff hopefully getting worked out of the system tonight. Weird weird game - real mix of some very good, and some really bad (what was that, Xander?)

That last throw by Xander has to earn him a day off. He's either tired or lost interest, I'll go with tired.

Totally agree with this, but anyone else find it funny how Temple was nowhere to be found for the win streak? One bad outing and here he is! Why are so negative, dude? Unfortunately I've barely been able to watch any games over the last month, so maybe you can blame me for them losing tonight. Haha. I completely agree though. No way Price should have come back out for multiple reasons.

Piss a clinching celebration on that field away by taking the late inning tie and bringing bck your pitcher who isn't quite gassed, but wasn't quite right alll night, either - all to get the starter one more chance at a W," Because no matter what the new stats say, pitchers love Ws. Strategy backfires badly and immediately leaving your team in a two-run whole at the hands of two sub .200 hitters. All this just as the entire team spent 7 innings clawing out of a 4-run hole.
This is why I get bitter with Farrell. Game of meaning on the line late, tied up, and he's trying to get a guy an individual accomplishment at the risk of -given the night Price had -- taking another path that is completely predicated on just getting 9 more outs so the team can engineer a win. Added to all this, if you win tonight, you can start resting guys more than a week before your first playoff game.
Too much old school reliance on predetermined "roles" and archaic legacy stats and "the way things have been done in the game forever."
Anyway, I guess Wednesdays are better clinhc days, right? More traditional. It's a better role for Wednesday. We'll just finish this one out now and hope no one gets hurt.

Papi didn't have it tonight. He swung and missed quite a bit.

It's just a meaningless regular season start for Price, but I hate the fact that Price couldn't get the can't-pitch-against-the-Yanks monkey off his back. It makes me afraid that he won't shed the can't-pitch-in-the-playoffs monkey off either. It seems like that stuff gets into his head.

Get em tomorrow. Really annoyed at Clippard and Romine's antics in the last inning. This isn't the ALCS.

Really bad look for Price, who was perfectly set up for a dominant start against a completely listless Yankees' lineup. That would have really been a great game for an 8 IP, 2 ER performance.
He just pitched non-competitively the entire game.

Well, the good - Pedey (again), Xander (with the bat, not quite with the D), and Benny. So glad he is back in the order and I suspect a big role in the post season. Holt looked good at third, and Hill's pinch HR. Ziegler the DP machine. Mookie's unusual catch and DP
The bad - Price (yuck), Farrell's non-use of the pen and bringing him back for the 7th. Rough array of Papi, Mookie and Hanley - 0-12. Sandy is not out of his funk yet.

Let's hope for a Toronto loss tomorrow (cause I don't trust Buchholz nor Owens to get that W.

I like David Price, and I think he has done a decent job for us this year. But he is going to have to take a long look in the mirror and determine what his legacy is going to be. He has had a helluva career thus far, but he is on a team that is stout as can be. There aren't many chances to pitch with this lineup and have your ticket to a ring come up. He has to better than what he showed tonight over the next however many weeks.

Let's hope for a Toronto loss tomorrow (cause I don't trust Buchholz nor Owens to get that W. LOL I thought the same thing when this game ended. I do NOT want to face Toronto in the last series of the season having to win a game to avoid a world shattering collapse. I know it's mathematically very unlikely to lose the division, but I can do without having to play with the insane pressure.

I've never been a bigger Orioles fan, but I'm not optimistic for Chris Tillman tomorrow. I don't understand forgoing Porcello on normal rest to throw Owens on Thursday.

I hope tonight was just a weird game and they win tomorrow, because I don't really want to see 3 losses to the MFYs and the Jays sweep the O's (at this point, I don't have faith in the O's pitching against the Jays lineup).

Since Benintendi is at no worst than the 5th best hitter on the team, let's please start thinking about moving him up in the lineup. He should not be losing RBI opportunities to Sandy Leon.
