The biggest issue to the longterm health of the game is clearly pace of play but they will never address the issue seriously so the youngest generation will continue to have less and less interest in the game than those before them. If they want to cater to the youngest generation, they may as well make the game 2 innings long with a home run derby to determine who wins ties. No one has more than a 5 minute attention span anymore.

I don't think these rules affect the Sox so much. The Sox have never spent that much over the luxury tax threshold. This new rule waa put in place for the Dodgers and Yankees who seem have unlimited bank accounts.

No one has more than a 5 minute attention span anymore. Pace of play isn't a CBA issue. The CBA doesn't cover on-field rules.
