where's the Barnes haters now? Kimbrel, dude, you gotta tighten it up. I still think the fact that he wasn't active was the main reason the Sox lost last Friday. Okay, he's inconsistent too but he's a heck of a lot better than Hembree, Scott (versus a RHB), and 10 times better than Joe Kelly.

I honestly don't where the Sox go with Joe Kelly. I suppose they can't send him down yet because it's too early to judge him but Ben Taylor has at least shown the ability to throw strikes and get outs despite not having the eye popping stuff that Kelly has. It would be ideal that the Sox get rid of Abad because the Sox aren't even using him and he's dead space on the roster to this point. Maybe they both go when Ross Jr and Pomeranz get activated, but it'll probably be Ben Taylor and Robby Scott because of the options.

What in the hell is wrong with all of you? I feel like I'm in pre-2004 Boston. The negativity is overwhelming.
Kimbrel had a shaky outing but he held it together and got himself out of a jam. That's a positive. He could have folded and crumbled and lost it but he didn't. That's a key attribute for a pitcher - one that many dont have. Go ahead and look at the negatives all you want but don't ignore the positives.
So far this season he has had 3 outings:
1. Clean save on opening day
2. Came into a tie game and had a good performance. Non-save situations were a big problem for him last year.
3. Got himself into a lot trouble but held things down and got out of it and held down the save.
There are positive signs from all those outings and a negative from one and the negative leads into a positive that he can build off of, yet you all want to say he sucks... good grief. I don't care if you hate the trade... he didn't make it, give the guy a break. He's actually a good pitcher the only debate is how good; he's done nothing off the field, in the media or anywhere else we know that should cause you to hate on him and he happens to be important for the team so to constantly hate on the guy is fandom at its worst.

BTW,I finally uploaded an avatar after many years on this forum (but mostly as a lurker). Not aware if I am stepping on anyone else who has this particular photo. Can happily change if someone has dibs. I think avatar originality is an underappreciated quality.

So, Pablo, there's this thing called a strike zone...

Squanders R Us here in the Motor City. Bases loaded none out - 1 run (which is better than no runs, but still). And then man on second no outs - nothing.
All this in a match-up where 1-2 runs could be massive.
Sigh.

Anyone who can strikeout Victor Martinez in consecutive at-bats is doing ok.

Still, no Hanley, no Bogey, no Bradley, and Benintendi and Mookie have yet to start hitting, which they will. I'm actually very encouraged by the team this year and the way they are holding it together with only two-thirds of their starting lineup.

Plus, you know that's Verlander on the mound.

But that don't get you wins.

Plus, you know that's Verlander on the mound. That's why the squanders hurt even more.

Sale is what we hoped Price would have been in 2016 and/or still could be in 2017 and beyond. Great starting pitching just makes fandom seem that much more confident.

Mitch Moreland en fuego.
Is Selsky really much faster than Moreland, though?

Chris Young must have the worst arm of any outfielder in baseball. He makes Johnny Damon look like Dwight Evans. The runner was barely past 3B when he got the ball in shallow left and he barely got the ball to Holt.
