I really don't understand what the f*** Farrell is doing in this game at all. Are there only 3 relief pitchers available in this game? The three worst ones? Is he losing the game on purpose? Farrell put himself in such predicament. Getting Barnes suspended instead of using one of those throw away LOOGY to throw at Machado instead. Why do they carry 3 lefties? Each faces 1 batter at most 2 times a week. This division calls for more RHP relievers.

There was a reason why the Mets dumped Dickey, it's called the knuckleball. Hold on to these stiffs Dave, maybe Snyder gard becomes available.. Idk man, Snyder gard is really good.

At this point, btw, I think it's time to get what, if anything, they can for Abad and bring up Callahan. I just don't see much value in Abad taking up a roster spot with minimum contribution, and Callahan has 13K/ZERO BB in 8 innings. His major issue was control, and he seems to have sorted that out sufficiently. After ST and the AFL, and the start to this year in AA, I think he's worth a (long) look as an MLB contributor.
As much as their offense has sputtered, it appears mostly bad-HR/FB (luck)-driven. But until that's sorted out, my impression is that maximizing bullpen performance will be key to nailing down games like tonight's. They're going to have to win some 5-3 and 2-1 games.

So far Pedey and Bogaerts have three extra base hits between them on the season. That has to change.

Has anything been said about Holt's vertigo? Is he still having lingering concussion effects because I'm not sure what else causes vertigo. I see that he's rehabbing already, but it's still pretty concerning. That's the kind of thing that ends careers early.

I've had a few (or as I like to joke, "Four that I can remember") and get mild to a little less than mild vertigo periodically, but it's usually solved with a medication (commercially known as "Antivert," generically labeled meclizine).

Pedroia and Bogaerts has 1XBH and 1RBI combined over the last 2 week. It's time things changes.

All Bogaerts has to do is lay off the Breaking ball down and away and everything will be better!

Hanley has been absolutely ridiculous since about last July or August I knew he was great the second half of last season, but you made me curious. Since July 15th, 2016, he has 24 homers in 353 plate appearances, with a .263 iso. I knew he'd been hitting for power, but damn.

Great story with Addison, but play it when the Cubs are hitting, not when my team is up.

My old cable box used to have this weird glitch where sometimes the commentators voices would disappear and all of the other sounds would still be there!

There were a few stories from last June about him adjusting his timing, effort (less effort, more fluidity), and swing path. Since late June 2016 he's absolutely scorching the ball.

Don't look now, but Eddie Rodriguez looks like he might be the 1a-caliber guy we were all hoping.

How many pitches completely out of the zone is the umpire going to call a strike against the Sox?
